Sweet baby Jesus, I wish I had watched this one before I had done the bulb on the other side of the car last year and done it with the housing inside of the car. That took 2 days of cussing, 3 thrown wrenches and 1 sore back. You can only do it in the car if you do everything exactly right, in the right order and with enough finger dexterity to deal with the bulb connector. This took 14 minutes from start to finish. Thanks guys!

is it possible to see if the xenon bulb is burned out and that it is not some other reason why it won't turn on? In old headlights, you could often see that the bulb was burnt out or something, is there a way to notice a physical difference in appearance with a burnt out bulb?

Does anyone know about reprogramming or calibration on a replacement headlamp? My MINI has been in the shop for a week. I think it’s cause hey don’t know what it takes to change a cracked headlamp.

Hey! Great video. Was there much purpose in disconnecting the battery if the electrical connector is already going to be disconnected, or was that just for extra precaution? Thanks!

+Jeff Hough Yes, it's always a good practice to disconnect the battery when working on electrical items. In this case the ballast for the Xeon bulb is high voltage and can hold a charge.

+Kait Blair You should not touch the bulb itself. It can be gripped by the base some other part as long as the glass isn't touched. Thanks for checking us out. 1aauto.com

You replace the whole unit incl. the small Box at the end of the bulb itself. Search for a D1S-bulb and you will see that it’s the whole thing. That’s why it’s more expensive than other xenon bulbs.

@@AlainSainz they did actually. Don’t touch the GLASS part of the bulb unit.

stupid way to change just a bulb , no need for prising the connector off with a screwdriver , that just need s quarter turn and it comes out then disconnect it even whilst the headlight is still in the car ...stupid video
