I’m wondering if that’s why mine is clicking I hope it doesn’t break and do I need to call the dealership about that recall or because they’ve replaced this same axle when I got the car 5 years ago

Yeah I got mine going in to be inspected on Wednesday. They used the wrong lubricant. So any 2013-2016 Honda accord sold in a salt belt state has a recall on it. They aren’t automatically replacing it. They’re inspecting it for rust and wear. If there’s over a certain amount of wear then they replace both sides. My car’s making a knocking sound when I hit bumps. I was thinking maybe the strut was bad on the passengers side but when I got the tire off it seemed fine. But there was rust on the drive shaft and when I jerked it back and forth it made the same tone of sound as when I hit a bump. So I’m betting that’s it. I typed my VIN# in and bam recall. I called the dealership and they got me an appointment 5 days later right after Memorial Day weekend. So I’ll be extremely happy if they say it’s covered by the recall.

There’s a recall on 2013-2016 Honda accords that were sold in the salt belt states. Apparently they didn’t use proper lubricant on the driveshaft. So they’ll inspect it and if they find wear then they’ll replace both sides for you. Good luck!

Good video and information, but you should have cleaned off the wd40 of the rotor with some brake clean.

I tried to DIY this job and it took me a whole 10 hours. This fucker did it in like 10 mins. He has a lift and fancy tools but fuck it's still impressive.

This does not apply to 2018 models. That is 10th gen Accord.

interesting...I have a 2014 sport 6speed and my passenger axle snapped in half a couple weeks ago just like the one in the video ( apparently didnt fall under their recall)

Right..seems way too common with the 2013-2015 for some not to be under the shaft recall. Exact same thing continues to happen.
