A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. Enjoyed the video. I had a tough time getting the knuckle off and back on the control arm. It was also very difficult to get the fork bolt back in. Everything was under tension so took a few people prying and pressing on parts to get the fork and control arm to line up.

Was a great tutorial, but didn't account for the midwest rust that made every step of my repair excruciating. Not a fun job without an impact and prybar.

What do you call the clamp that you used for the lower ball joint? and is it the same procedure for a 2016 accord?

Wondering why the lower control arm wasn't under much pressure? Had alot of trouble getting it back together. Felt like it would of been easier to undo the swaybar link on my car. I also found it easier to replace the axle from taking the upper balljoint off instead of lower. I did see u edited the video. So I'm assuming it took a little bit of time to get the balljoint to sit? Good video though. Looked easier for you.

Does the new axle lock in place? I installed one like this but I can pull out the axle with my hand. The car drives fine now

Do these axles cure acceleration vibration guaranteed? I have installed aftermarket axles that did not cure the issue

I have the factory manual and it also suggests doing that but I don’t see a reason why. I plan to do this job in a few weeks and I already have a few extra quarts in the garage just in case it spills but every video I’ve seen on KZfaq doesn’t seem to need it.

hi, can i use the accord 2012 v6 axle on a 2010 tsx v6? i think the tsx is based from the accord chassis

to remove ball joint safely. put the nut back on and twist it up to where it is flush with the stud. dont tightened it vack all the way, then wack upward with a brass mallet. works everytime.

Yep. My dad taught me this years ago, he grew up working in his dad’s auto workshop in Amsterdam in the 1940s-50s. I normally reverse the castle nut so as not to damage it, or I use a regular nut that’s the same size and thread pitch.

Nope. You did not touch the tie rod, so, no. If you have the extra money, go for it. One Alignment every year is good for your tires.

That ball joint is not easy to remove. Even with the ball joint separator it messed up my thread on the ball joint. Good video though!

I did uppers instead and just smacked the knuckle with a sledge, worked just fine, however im on a 2010 crosstour and this passenger side axle does not want to come out at all, no idea why, prying and hammering on the end through the exhaust isnt working
