If this was my car I'd leave the brakes I bleed some of the brake fluid I know it may seem like you don't need to but the brake fluid does get dirty and you're right there right there then it just do it man you know it's amazing you could drip out a couple of drips or make sure there's no air in it I'm telling you this makes a big difference if it needs it I think it keeps a fluid clean because dirty fluid rocks out the brake cylinders and the calipers

Always replace the clips on your brakes. Heat damages them as well as corrosion and they will not work as intended. For the few dollars it costs, its best to order them with your brakes or make sure they are included.

No need to remove the bottom sliding pin bolt unless you want to lube it.

I have been using Bendix brake pads on all my vehicles, for nearly 43 years. I have gone as far as 93,000 miles on a complete set of Bendix pads and rotors. If those pads you are using, are so good why do you have to replace them at 17,000. I drive a 2007 Quest bought brand new ,I replaced the pads and rotors at 23,000 miles, due to warped rotors replaced with Bendix Pads and Rotors I am at 116,027 miles ,had my tires rotated and noticed that there is about 80% or more of the pads left ,front and rear. I just noticed a few days ago started to shake when lightly applying brakes, mileage now is 159762. I don't know if it is a persons driving habits or just poor quality pads, but I will never change to any thing else unless I can not get them anymore.

Hey, nice video. How are the brakes holding up? How many miles have you put on them, and have you had any issues or noises? I've read that cross drilled and slotted rotors will make a "humm" or a "tick tick tick" noise

I have 25,000 miles on the front and about 10,000 miles on the rear. No wheel vibration. No problem at all and works great in cold and hot weather. With all your average daily braking around the city, no noise. Now if you really slam on the brake in an emergency, it does have some of that hum you mention but it's not loud or annoying. Bottom line is I love them.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about putting them on my 2014 VW Passat TDI. My stock brakes are junk and are squeaking all the time... So annoying!

Do you not have to bleed the brakes

Thanks for the video. I have a 07 Quest. I am going to change the brake pads myself for the first time. Question please. Do I need to round the brake rotor every time I change the brake pads? Thanks

You should machine the rotors each time you change the pads, especially if you change type of pads. The pad materials gets deposited onto the rotors surface. Also if the rotors are starting to have uneven surface, the new pads will make it worse. Keep in mind, machining rotors will make it thinner so it can warp easier too. Also you have to pay to machine it, so many people change pads and rotors with each surface.

Ideally, it would be a better video to show absolutely every little steps. I.e. Undoing the tox screw for the brake disc, Removing the brake fluid reservoir cap, Be ready for the brake fluid overflow when pushing the piston back, etc.

You need to drink a little without brake fluid to kind of clean it up a little bit I know when I didn't work on my car I didn't do it but when I worked on my car I did it every time you know unless I was really

Hello and thank you for a great video! do you have a video for replacing the parking brake shoes? Thanks Again!
@dial2fast

Sorry, never had to change the parking brake as it should las the life of the car. Unless you accidentally drove with the ebrake on. But the ebrake is exactly like drum brakes on the rear of many econo cars. The replacement is the same. Search for drum brake vids on youtube.

Yeah after a year of sitting and 150,000 MI my brake shoes on the e-brake are also bad... What I found is it is not for the faint of heart I looked at it I tried and then I sent it to a professional cuz if you get the tension wrong the car doesn't move if you get the attention to lose it doesn't work I just had real trouble getting it adjusted properly

Is it ok to use break quiet on the outside part of the break pads instead of adding grease on the piston?

It's really all the same, either surface will do the same thing. Just a small amount.

Why nobody knows which way the squealer is positioned: being dragged, or pushed when the rotor turns during driving? Logic would say dragged, as the nails on the chalkboard but who really knows huh?
