you can yeah I've just changed mine but keep in mind it can take a while and you'll need 3/8 rachets, small extensions bars and a M10 sized socket - a crow bar if you need to move the heater pipe mine was not moving so i couldn't align my bolt holes with the thermostat cover. The way in the video is great for me if I needed to move my heater pipe back or forward further -- this video would have made my life easier so thank you I'll use it next time and doing things the right way takes time and costs which most people don't want.

He is also doing a manifold gasket as well. To change the thermostat, you only remove the transmission line, the radiator hose, and 3 10mm bolts going in from underneath. Simple as pie.

@@erikames-dixon2658 I couldn't get the top bolt on the thermostat housing (the second plastic part of the clamshell besides the actual thermostat part) without removing the intake like in the video. That second part cracked and caused a leak.

@@johnwitherell6662 use a wobbly extension with a universal joint on a deep well thin wall socket. I've done a bunch of them. A friend of mine needed a video and stumbled across yours. Did you try taking the trans line off before tackling the thermostat? Theres plenty of room.

Agreed with others - way too much work. I did this a few months ago and followed a video like this. It is true that you will have a lot of access from the top, but at what cost? Good video, but you should have shown the last parts

Where's the thermostat? At no point did you ever pull it out I saw you take apart half the front end of the car but never actually pull the thermostat out and show where all of those little parts that you have go and how they go in.... wasn't that the whole point of this video?

To me it seems to be a video to show the customer how much work goes into taking apart to overcharge time, do what’s industry standard. Like someone mentioned, you can reach it through the bottom whole lot faster and easier. I had a mechanic tell me he needed to lift the vehicle and replace the radiator to fix just that. I knew what it was, so I never went back to that “certified mechanic”. The mechanic that fixed it did it through the top, and didn’t remove everything like on this insane video. Goes to show you how this industry works.

Lol wtf why would you take the entire car apart?

Hi do you have video of easy way please I need to replace thermostat
@ramboner Жыл бұрын
@@lolosaulala48 i found one yea. It's from the bottom of the car... Just follow the lower radiator hose until it goes into the engine. Take off the hose and there it is.
