This video shows you how to install a new timing belt, water pump, camshaft seals, and crankshaft seals on your 1999-2003 Toyota Solara. A timing belt should be replaced at a certain interval, since a broken belt could cause catastrophic damage to your engine. Ticking engine and misfires are also symptoms of a timing belt that needs to be replaced. In this application, the water pump is driven by the timing belt, so it is a good idea to replace both at the same time, along with pulleys and seals.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:

What about lining up the timing belt marks white lines with the camshaft timing marks? Arent those lines on the belt meant to be inline with the camshaft sprocket marks?

You doing a great job at watch this before earlier but I wanted to sink in my head thanks yeah if you could answer my question I'm pretty sure the thermostats underneath the radiator cap you know way on the bottom and what kind of seal or do you have a video for that one thanks

What about lining up the timing belt because if you get the timing wrong it blows up your engine ?

Well done video, do the belt tensioner bolts loosen to the right, I think I may have over tightened the inner one and it sneered off, the tensioner is off but now I have to extract that bolt or there is no getting that bolt back in, is it possible to extract without having to lift or take out the engine? Thanks

Excellent Video! Thank you so much! I have a couple of questions: First the petroleum jelly (vasilene). Some are saying a petroleum-based jelly can cause the seals to swell and to use dielectric grease instead. Is this true? or overblown. Second, you didn't press in the seals. Should that be done or is it unneccessary? Perhaps that is the magic of petroleum jelly?

Thermostat located at the back of the engine by the intake manifold.

Proof why you never ever buy a car with a timing belt. Such a stupid and unnecessary cost saving measure that will cost the owner thousands of dollars later. Glad companies are walking away from this. Even for dealers it's not worth tying up your service department on such work.
