Thanks just using a johnsered 2255 my brother lent me until my other SAW was fixed. I wasant sure which way the positioning of the compression valve had to be in? Thanks!

Good luck with it! I've had excellent luck with mine. Nice comfortable powerband and very smooth. Thanks also for watching!

Small motors warm up instantly, because the rpms are so high you don't need to warm it up. The oil instantly circulates because it's in the gas!

Mike, Thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback, but it has been my experience that the tolerances are so much larger with air cooled engines, they benefit from a bit of time to warm up. It doesn't take long with such small engines, but I feel the cylinder and rings last longer if you're gentle on them when first started... but just my opinion so ymmv. All I can say is, I've had good luck with this technique. Thanks again for watching!

Thanks much for the useful information. I have a question: I know that the portion of oil which oiling the chain can be regulated. On what depends that? I mean when I must put the oil pomp at min and when at max?

Nick, I can't say that this is the official answer that might come from Husq or Jonsered... but we usually make those changes based upon the bar length and type of chain. If you were to put a longer bar on or perhaps a more aggressive chain, they will require more oil. Also, if you are cutting in colder weather, you might adjust the oil to flow a bit more because it'll be thicker and less will tend to be pumped out. Lastly, if you're cutting wood that's punky (somewhat decayed - dry & dusty) I'll turn it up, otherwise the chain can get pretty dry. All in all, I tend to run the saws towards the high end of their range but it uses more oil. Thanks for watching and your question, I hope that helps!

@@MrConcrt Thanks much for the information it is much useful for me. The bar is 20 inches and the step of the chain is 0.325

Just ordered this same exact saw. Had great reviews wanted a reliable machine. How has it been for you so far? I hear some folks run mineral bar oil for better oiling.

Thanks for watching, and as to it's reliability, fantastic saw! As you probably know, J-Red are owned/made by Husqvarna, so your buying essentially a Husq. I have some Stihl, Husq and Jonsered, admire qualities of each, but lean towards the Husq/J-Reds. There's a certain feel that to me is different, and I love them. No issues with reliability with many hours of use, so you should be happy! As far as mineral oil, I'm not sure. I've always just used a high quality bar oil that's summer grade/thickness. Thanks again for watching and good luck with the saw!

Thanks for the video. I have the same exact saw. Do you know why after 2 cuts, the saw does not cut smoothly and smoke comes out of the engine and blade? What should I do to fix it? I tried replacing the chain but it still does the same thing?

Not exactly sure from what you've said. If there is smoke from the blade, I'd guess that the groove that the chain runs in has gotten full of sawdust. Some logs (especially if they're extra dry) will clog up the groove the chain runs in. Can even get to the point (with a deep cut that uses the whole length of the bar) that the chain gets completely stuck. I'm trying to remember as I type this , if that saw has an adjustment for oil to be added to the chain. If it does, turn it up to add more oil. Otherwise, may have to try to take cuts a bit more slowly so that the saw can keep the sawdust/cuttings cleared from the bar as you're cutting. If you can, try to maintain a reasonably fast speed for the chain as you cut that doesn't vary too much. This is actually quite hard with some logs, but if you cut slower and apply less pressure, the saw may work better.
