How to Screed a Shower Base for Correct Fall Without Splits

Күн бұрынI always divide my shower base into 4 parts where I always fall it to the waste and not falling it corner to corner.
I have been a professional tiler in Australia for 35 years and love what I do. I have tiled everything from train stations to multi-million dollar mansions and million-dollar shopping centres. I am an expert in tiling bathrooms, all floors, and walls in homes. After all my experience over the years, it is my passion to share my knowledge and skills with others.

Love your videos and sound you make a question What size of Aluminium L angle you use 40mm or 50mm that you have installed before screed ? What is recommended

Hi Crist, new subscriber here, just a question can you let the screed cure, waterproofed it, and glue down the tiles without splitting the tiles, or the screed needs to be soft in order to tap the tiles into it. Thanks

G'day mate Thank you. First of all for subscribing these days I am waterproofing more on top of the screen and splitting the tiles for more fall I do prefer no splits and to achieve that I wet bed my tiles into the shower base which means yes, I'm tapping them into place while the mud is still fresh. But now I am a fan of waterproofing on top of my screen so it can't be done like that anymore I hope this answers your question Chriso 😀👍🫶

Chris'o, do you still do your shower screed like this? I'm thinking maybe the envelope pattern for mine so corner to corner and I'll have to relief cut my tiles.

I screed that way too. Only time I don’t is wifi sheet tiles where you put plenty of fall on. Is your son still a tiler with you now? Or you do seperate jobs
