Really nice work, I found that moisturiser works even better than water for lubricating your sculpting tools. Used it plenty on my silicon shaper for my most recent sculpting vid & it glided effortlessly. Fantastic tutorial, man

My issue with moisturizer and vaseline is that you have to wash your piece afterwards if you want to add more putty on top, and I'm lazy 😂
@earthmanbrick

@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures No worries, man. I was using Milliput which is more adhesive & less elastic than Kneadatite/Greenstuff. They handle rather differently in sptie of both being 2 part epoxy putties. I'm rather lazy when it comes to sculpting too, recently got called out for not wearing gloves whilst sculpting because someone remarked there was a visible fingerprint on my piece. Long story short, I know exactly where you're coming from, dude Looking forward to your next vid. Keep up the good work
@JuanHidalgoMiniatures

@earthmanbrick
@earthmanbrick 3 жыл бұрын
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Cool, man. Yeah, you totally should. It's certainly cheaper & I prefer to use it for shaping the main body of the model (since it's better at holding its shape) & opt to use kneadatite for finer details; cloaks, fur & such. Go for it, man. I'll certainly watch that vid

Great tutorial :D. If you were covering a larger mini with scales (let's say a dragon) where you can't get the full covering in one go, would you sculpt the scales top to bottom, bottom to top, from the middle, or something else?

How long have you been in the hobby, Juan? Your control of brush and sculpting tool is so perfect. Any tips on specific ways to practice brush control?
@JuanHidalgoMiniatures
@JuanHidalgoMiniatures 3 жыл бұрын
I started around 97, it was with the release of 5th edition Fantasy, I remember that very well. I had the obligatory gap later on of about 5-6 years and went back about 6 years ago. For brush control, I do have tips yes. Use a LARGE BRUSH, the larger you can handle that has a nice tip and paint everything with it, from layers to eyes, to Freehand. I personally recommend Space Marines. My favourite Brushes are the rosemary and co series 33 size 3 and 4. Learn to control large brushes and you will learn brush control without even noticing. You will also never like small Brushes again, they are useless.

That's the best thing about starting this channel. I've learned a ton of things and I'm a better person by it. Video and audio editing, Photoshop, using a proper camera, speaking to an audience and that's just the basic skills. Most important for me is its made me think in the steps and the reasoning of what I do when I'm painting and sculpting. I've learned a lot about myself that way. Anyway mate, thanks for watching! 😘
