Brian is a professional and makes rotary polishing look easy. A word of caution, I’ve lost count of the number of cars I’ve seen which have been polished with a rotary and have horrid buffer trails and holograms when exposed to bright sunlight. Needless to say they are probably hard to pick up in a poorly lit DIY garage. For my money, the DA is the pick for beginners as it gives you a lot more wobble room and the finish isn’t too far behind for the margin of safety you get.

Nice tutorial Brian, think you nailed it when you said "let the panel cool down & go again" We seem to be in an era of 'I want it now' and eating the elephant one bite at a time doesnt seem to be appropriate anymore. Expectations need to be reset, there are no magical miracle cures that allow complete resurface to be created in an hour on a Sunday morning irrespective it being claimed often...

rotary and Lake Country lamb wool are my go to , also like the uro 50/50 on da.. microfiber spike heat and mows down pretty fast, but they dont finish like wool. like you said, they tend to clog up faster.....[flatten] i always end with finishing black pad and finishing polish to get that last once of gloss before protection ;-)- You're the Best !!

I’ve done a few cars lately and found a great combination that works for me. Keeping in mind I’m doing this as a 1 step, not seeking perfection, and getting them out the door economically, I really like Uro 50/50 with 4 drops Xtreme Solutions LVR-369 (Trifecta compound/polish/sealant) and 4 drops either LVR-403 or 404 (depending on color). I top it with Polyseal and they look great. Most importantly, customer is thrilled.

I think a lot of it depends on where you are and your conditions. I'm in the UK and for 90% of the year it never really gets much about 15 degrees Celsius. A large part of the time it's below 10! Certainly going to have a far different experience working with microfibre pads with those sorts of ambient temperatures id reckon. But then I guess you could argue that that's even worse perhaps as the starting temperature of the rest of the bodywork is that much lower to begin with?

Very informative videos, thank you. I'm thinking about testing out some DIY paint correction. How many such corrections would be possible over the life of a vehicle before the clear coat is too thin to work with? I know the answer depends on year, make and model, but I'm curious if we're talking about clear coat being able to withstand only 2 or 3 such corrections or more? Thanks again.

Nice vedio! What I found over decades buying cars and keeping looking pristine is to wash they immediately at home and do a 4 step process with the 4th being Appling 2 or 3 coats of quality wax to seal paint from dirt and road grim. Every other month I'll apply 2 coats of wax ending up with paint looking 3 D appearance.

You can't go wrong with anything 3D makes. I've never disliked a single 3D product I've used. Aside from their polishes, which we all know are as good as it gets, 3D Eraser is an amazing water spot remover. Orange Citrus degreaser is awesome. Their Waterless Car Wash is very lubricated and easy to use, I use it as a detail spray as well. LVP would be their version of VRP, but it's not as glossy. They also have Magic Blue dressing, which is similar but in spray form, a bit like CarPro Perl, very versatile and easy to use, and it has some gloss to it.
