In this video I discuss setting your steering endpoints to get maximum performance out of your R/C vehicle. I go over max performance and a safer setting as well.
Things to note are making sure upper camber links are same length left and right. Making sure steering links are same length left and right.
Products in video include:
Agama A319 Nitro 1/8th buggy.
Futaba 7PX Limited Edition radio.
Futaba HPS CB700 servo.

Can you or have you done a video on driving gas, brake etc! Like maybe a voice over while on a track? How should you set your brakes and when to brake for corner etc. Thanks for the tips

I'm sure it's a lot different for competitive racers, but I've always don't my EPA with the tires elevated. Under acceleration, your front tires will be under a lot less load, and because of that, if you set your endpoints on the ground, it'll easily overextend the servo, causing it to fight against the servo saver and strain itself. If you don't even have a servo saver, it's even worse. I love how your transmitter allows for seperate left and right steering endpoint adjustment though, I really need to get one like that.

Hi Ryan, could you share a short demo video about the new HPS CB700 servo? It would be great to see its speed and response in turning the wheels while sitting still and also with the front of the buggy pushed down with your hand. Perhaps you could share some more information about it while demoing. It looks amazing even just returning to center in this video, I'd love to see/hear a proper piece on it.

Thank you for your interest in that. I will see what I can do. They are pretty much instant reaction time and super fast!

for both the sct410 and eb48sl from tekno i notice if you turn the wheel fast on the radio it turns a little bit further then if you are to slowly move the wheel. what one would it be best to set to? the one that turns a little bit more so you dont put as much strain on the servo if you crank on the wheel fast or the other?
@RyanLutz
@RyanLutz 5 жыл бұрын
Most likely that would be due to the servo saver being a little on the looser side. If you have enough steering do it to the lesser amount. If you need more steering then do it to the greater amount.

Is that servo buzzing a concern for long term reliability? Does that mean the servo is over extending? I have seen folks turn down EPA till the servo quietens down, but that means less steering, how to get to a middle ground?

Generally you aren't holding full steering long amounts of time when you are driving. Plus you have added resistance from the ground when you are fully steering. So it shouldn't be an issue. But there is also servos that perhaps it's best not to try to over exert them in the lower budget range.

when you say servo saver "full tight" that is when the servo saver spring is at full bind?

Yes, When you can no longer tighten the servo saver nut.

Any reason why when I start adjusting percentages, my wheel only hits a certain point then my tires don’t adjust to the percentage? My percentage will go up. But my wheels never adjust with it.

Sounds like you’ve hit the end of your end point of useable travel. Or your servo saver is too loose.

Can you tell if your wheels are turning when you stab the throttle? Sounds a bit more like one of your rear tires is expanding quicker than the other maybe?

don't think you need that much steering angle, because your driving style is you turn the vehicle with its tail !
