The 3 Stages of Singing an AC/DC song
It all starts with a lighter vocal tone than you might think. I find that if I at first use a silly and light cartoon character type sound to find the phrasing I can then quickly add pitch to that same light tone. Then the last step is to add the distortion which must be done carefully and MUST not be forced or shouted. Your vocal coach can help you with this distortion if it is tricky for you. This song has very high notes for a male singer so treat it with respect. If your voice starts to tire do stop singing.

Dude! I think I can get this now! I can sing it in the full voice, but it doesn't sound anything like him. NOW, I know the formula. I am going to try some tomorrow!!!

But how do you do that distortion ! I'm a voice teacher , but I do not teach distortion ! I need to know so I can pass along the message in case my students want to learn ! Lol

Hi Emi. It is something best done at a slow pace with a voice coach I think. The first thing is not to do any harm to your own voice. It is best learned when treated as a vocal effect added to the tone of your voice. I am a vocal coach too, perhaps I can help

Try almost metal singing and making that growl with like air in your mouth and scratching your throat then try combining

I have plans on singing like this by using voice feminization exercises since I’m a baritone just like Brian Johnson. I know Brian doesn’t sing those high notes with falsetto

I strongly disagree (while admitting that I could be wrong, lol.) Not only have I heard many vocal instructors opine that he is using a distorted "reinforced" falsetto, but I, personally, was able, in my twenties, to do a dead-on impression of Johnson (much more exact than this one) and I was, for sure, doing a distorted falsetto. I had to. My voice is Barry White deep by nature. I would, back when I cared to do so, bring forth a roaring, earsplitting falsetto that people said was nearly indistinguishable from Brian Johnson. I had to practice for several months to develop it.
