In question no.2 why do you take the left hand side and make it one term by multiplying with 12? is it because the whole left hand side expression is equal to the whole right hand side expression and so we have to multiply the whole left hand side. I hope you understand my question

There are two terms on the left hand side and by multiplying both sides of the equation by 12 cancels out the values in the denominators of all terms which is good practice. It still leaves two terms on the left hand side not one. It is not in your words "because the whole left hand side expression is equal to the whole right hand side expression and so we have to multiply the whole left hand side."
