I ate 2100 calories for a month and was 155lbs. Went to 2650 for two weeks and weighed in at 155 today. This makes sense now. I was so confused about the calorie gain and no weight gain.

So this isnt really an instructional video on actually “How to start reverse dieting.” Didnt go into how to calculate maintenence or lean bulking calories, macros, and how much to change calories each week during reverse dieting. I was mislead by the title.

Great advice, makes sense. I can see why you’d refer everyone first as most start already so low and the weight just doesn’t budge. Another thing is to think about how you feel more not how you look but that’s hard but really shouldn’t be. Such a mess-up mentally but what’s more important at the end of the day - health. It’s basically eat more and exercise more regularly and smart

Hi guys, I've been binge watching your podcast for months and this is video was just what I needed. I had a sleeve surgery 2 years ago and lost 100 lbs. Before that I've been dieting my whole adult life. Now I eat 1200 calories per day. (yes guys I know how many calories I eat per day because I'm tracking them religiously today make sure I get enough protein) I eat 140g of protein per day for a 165 lbs, I lift weights 3 times per week, walk 10000 steps per day and do one interval training per week. I am putting on muscle but my body it's just not shedding fat. I've been at 26% fat for months event though I've been weight training for a year oh and I'm a female, 45 years old. I'd really like to get down to about 19% of body fat. I've read Sal's book and I've identified that I'm probably not shedding fat because it's eat to little calories and am ready to do the reverse diet but I'm so scared of putting in weight again. HELP 😱 Other than bumping my calories 100 calories every 3 weeks any advice on this journey. Again weight is a very touchy subject for me and I'm really scared of putting the weight back on. Any advice, help I'll implement.

Its mental that if you want it you want it. If you don’t you don’t. Have faith in the process and persist in the right way. I cycled for years. Never making true meaningful progress. Then after 2 back to back high risk bed rested pregnancies something in me mentally snapped and switched and i knew what i wanted. I wanted it for me. I feel like thats the key. That was 32 years old and id been yo yoing since high school. Keeping it off is mentally accepting your new lifestyle and reality of what is healthy and that society isn’t healthy. What seems normal when you drive down the street and all the grease and sugar and nasty stuff is not normal. We have so much telling us “aw its ok just eat what everyone else eats, just do what everyone else does.” Hell no. My focus first of all was strength. I ignored weight. I focused on building up my weakened muscles and supporting my joints for weeks before hitting it hard core. It was a process. But if you want it, you can do frikking anything.. at any age (or course talk to your doctor) but seriously. We put too many mental constraints and excuses on ourselves. We cant see the forest for the trees. Its RIGHT there if you want it. Hell.. i dont even go to the gym. I work out in my CLOSET 😂 basically prison cell style work outs high impact and all. I have a pullup bar that is permanently up all the time in there 🤣. I reach through it to get my clothes in the morning. and im in the best shape of my life. I started a few weeks after my youngest was born. I was just fed up. But i didn’t breastfeed. Thats an excellent point to make in this video. After kids dont push yourself until you’re ready. I felt ready at 3-4 weeks. But thats not normal. But when you are ready, listen to your body and love who you are. Muscle building is literally everything. True meaningful and functional weight loss starts there.

I’ve done this HCG diet on and off for many years. Lost a lot of weight and gained it back. I regret ever doing it. But i believe that diet has messed my metabolism up and hormones up. Eating 500 calories on that diet. And now matter what i eat healthy or not i gain weight.

Very common, my wife was similar. I have managed to get her upto 1700 calories a day now, count your calories religiously, everything that goes in your mouth gets counted, even the 5 calories in a diet coke. Increase your daily calories by 50 per day, stay there for 7-10 days, then add another 50, this worked for my wife who was eating 800c a day at one point and couldn't loose weight.

Is it recommended to follow a mini-cutting cycle of 2 weeks of cutting followed by 1 week of bulking when following the Anabolic Advanced program?

Ok there were lots of great tidbits here. I'm a 6"6 247 lb man. But I'm down to 1860 calories per day and my weight has not moved up or down since June. At what increments do I bump the calories up and how often? Also I'm on a moderate amount of gear, 300 test, 100 nandralone per week, does that change anything?

This concept is so interesting. I’ve limited my calories in the last year or so and have t lost any weight but was def more tired. Now on a strength training program with hiit and more calories, with way higher protein goals. Feel good this week (week 1) but no weight change yet

I've struggled for years not being able to lose weight. Been in a calorie deficit eating at 1780 per day (1 yr) trying to hit 140g protein. Added strength training 3x p/wk. Then started walking 2 miles per day averaging 10k - 13k steps 5x p/wk. Just started adding in calories and OMG. I feel SO much better. I've even been able to bump my weights. I'm scared due to weight but what I'm doing is NOT working. Thanks for the message

Can you do any cardio while reverse dieting?
@nostgeoffhi-fi
@nostgeoffhi-fi 7 ай бұрын
is your goal to build muscle, gain psychological/mental health benefits, regulate hormonal issues, or to improve running as a skill lie sprinting or marathon running? It really depends on your goal, the type of cardio you do, and if your body has already been adapted to this cardio, as to how you can reverse diet with it. For instance, we all walk every day. Walking is cardio, but I dont actively take any extra steps so the cardio I do do, my body has adapted to with the amount of calories and macros that I eat, therefore, I can reverse diet without having to count my walking into my actual workout plan. The type of cardio also matters. Aerobic exercises such as jogging/running that are low intensity and long duration sends the opposite hormonal signal to the body that resistance training does. It tells your body to become more efficient with its caloric intake (meaning to hormonally slow the metabolism down in order to accomplish a long aerobic activity of 1+ hours). Aerobic activity burns the most calories from fat at the time of the workout, yes, but over time will also pair down any muscle mass that isnt required in the activity. In running for example, and yes there are different intensities of running, but lets consider your average person who jogs at low-mod intensity for a long duration of 1 hour each day: in this case, having less muscle means you can move lighter and more easily for an extended period of time, and also means your body will require less fuel to go farther. Since we know that the more muscle you have the more oxygen and glucose it uses, the body will naturally pair off muscle over time, which decreases the basal metabolic rate, as a response to become better at the particular aerobic activity of jogging. Combined with a caloric reduction diet, this jogger may lose 25-50+ pounds in a few months. However, this leaves them with less muscle mass and a slower metabolism, meaning once they come out of the diet, and begin eating more or go back to “regular” calories again, their basal metabolic rate is unadapted to this intake, cannot burn this many calories at the resting (non-active) state, because they have decreased their muscle mass. This means that long duration, low intensity cardio in combination with reverse dieting (which is an increase in calories), would lead to fat gain and muscle loss. Reverse dieting should be for those on a weight lifting or strength training program with the purpose of building muscle and increasing the resting metabolic rate. Otherwise, it doesnt make much sense. My suggestion is if you want to fit added cardio (cardio in addition to everyday normal walking) into a reverse dieting plan, that the cardio be any intensity you want (high intensity is best) but keep the duration low at 30mins or less per session. If you begin gaining fat or losing muscle, you’re going to have to eat more or cut down on the cardio sessions.
