I wanna try doing commissions on insta but I’m only 14 and have no knowledge of anything associated with money or sell 😭 maybe I’ll just do pieces worth 10-20? Idk I wish I knew the worth of my art. Yes I do have a reason to my desire of wanting to do commissions. First off, I’m too young to work outta home. Second, I want money to buy a tablet and a stylus for my art cuz most of my art is done using my phone and finger. But I’m still deciding. Doing art for money isn’t really a big necessity for me or my family. Plus school starts soon and my schedule will be packed with early college 🗿

Hey! There are very few things I've actually animated like my intro, my starting soon screen for streams, stuff like that. Anything else I do I would consider animatics or in the case of my character in the corner of my videos I think that's just still images set to audio.

ok so for pricing, charging for time spent doesn't make sense for lower skill or simpler styled artists. You should charge based on the product you are producing, and its quality. Not based on whether it takes u 1hr or 5hrs to compete something. A more skilled artist might take a shorter period of time to complete the same product you took a day on, that doesn't mean they get paid less. If anything, if you are FASTER, you should get paid more for high turn-over :P

I guess one major question I have on commissions is when you should start. Like I’m not that big on Instagram (I only have Instagram rn for my art) and my following is 120, but I don’t get much interaction with my account 😅 so should I work on building my account more? Or could I just start commissions? Would love anyone’s input!

If you're ready to take commissions you might as well have your commission information out there or stare in your bio that you're open! You never know! You might have a post that takes off and people might reach out. Then when they do you'll already have your info ready. Hope that helps!

You can still do traditional commissions! Some people mail the art to the commissioner or they scan it and send them a high quality image!

How do you generate a link or your Doc? Or am I just stupid? Can you even make a link? Does it even work?

Yes you can! When you make your google doc on the top right should be a share button. After that there should be an option that pops up on how you want to share your google doc. At the bottom of that pop up should be the option to "copy link" I hope that helps!
