I used to eat 7 Tulsi leaves every day when I was in India and I never had any cough, cold or sinus issues. But since started my life abroad things started going wrong. We had tulsi plant everywhere back home. I think I will follow you and get some when I go home. Tulsi, Muringa, Turmeric and guava leaves all were part of our life. Let us heal and have a peaceful life.

I recently joined Rosemary Gladstar's herbalism course. I can't believe how much information the course provides for under $500.00. I was looking at other courses for thousands, and I can't afford that. I can't say enough about this course. It's clear that she is not only very knowledgeable but also someone who is passionate about the info she shares. I highly recommend the course.

Mary, I find that more and more I am moving towards true, sensibly established home makers that share skills and skill sets with their "followers". Now, whilst I would never classify myself as a "follower", in this case I am more than willing to become a student of life skills with a top grade teacher. I hope you realize that many of us have come to count on you passing on this invaluable knowledge. At 70, I still have a dearth of great learning and am happy to fill that void with well gotten information. Blessings to you and yours, Yee Haw to my Fellow Texans. Watch and learn grasshoppers.

Regarding the emergency pantry: Boka Saul rice is a type of rice that can be prepared by soaking it in water without cooking. May be useful when trying to conserve fuel/heating resources. If possible, do you mind considering a review of this product as it pertains to traveling, preparedness, and overall nutrition? I believe it may also be called Komal Saul rice. Thank you ☀️

Thank you, Mary! This community certainly loves you back! I hope you feel that. Quick note for any Spanish speakers or anyone who has neighbors who are more comfortable speaking Spanish than English: There is a great resource called Donde No Hay Doctor ("Where there is no doctor"), which covers basic first aid and other home remedies. It was written originally for rural areas where there literally was no doctor. It might be a helpful resource.

I have learned to make wonderful plant-ally medicines from learning my plants a d what each can and does do. I thank Spirit for always guiding me and allowing the healing and nurturing to flow thru me and around so I am able to pass on what I discover to every divine soul around me. Namaste. ❤

For all respiratory issues lobelia tincture, has been used for Bronchitis, phuemonia, and Asthma for sure kept in my apothecary. Willow bark, now many want white willow bark but all willow have the properties needed for make willow garlic oil which I have used on my kids, grandkids, cats, dogs ,hamsters, guinea pigs name it for ear infections. The garlic kills the bacteria and the willow takes the pain out bang now unlike Mullen. I collect the sap buds of the cotton wood tree any sticky sap buds will make nice creams lotions and healing salves. Cotton wood belongs to the willow family and has many of the same properties and more. Chuga mushroom dried and stores for daily tea and is a must it heals on a cellular level.

Hi sweet Mary, I am a blind viewer of your channel. I love listening to your voice. I love cooking and gardening, but I do the best I can with my situation. I’m so thankful you mentioned the herbal teas by Organic India, because I neither have the accommodation or now the time I think to prepare what you suggest. I keep the basics such as manuka honey, olive leaf extract and oregano oil. If you can put a link to your 10 most important herbs video in your reply to me I would like to watch that. Perhaps you mention a company where I can get those herbs. Thank you so much for all you do, you are God’s gift to people at this time. BTW, Jesus is coming very soon, first for those who have put their trust in Him and then to judge the whole world. I really hope I will see you in heaven, dear sweet Mary.

Hi Mary, I haven't yet looked at your list, but I wanted to say an important one that I use is oil of oregano. I'm not sure if you can make your own "hot" oil, but it has treated and cured so, so many issues. It's a hot oil, so you're supposed to cut it with a carrier oil, but I've used it pure on my toenails to cure nail fungus, ear infections and sore throats. Works on viruses, and both gram + and gram - bacteria! Gotta try it.

Hey, Mary, I have learned so much from you. I make bone broth about every other month, more if I can find bone-in meats. I have my freezer bag of scraps, I have a couple people who keep bones and scraps for me, and I share the bone broth with them. My bone-broths are usually a mix of chicken and whatever other bone-in meat I can find, because everything seems to be boneless these days. I did buy beef bones I found in one store for my last batch, which was mixed with chicken bones, but turned out very very good. Finding beef or pork bones locally is getting harder and harder. I guess people don't realize that's half where the flavor is, and the other half is the fat? I swear, the pork chops I buy lately taste of water and whatever seasoning I put on them, they don't taste like anything else. I used to hate pork steaks because they were too strong, but now they barely taste of anything. It's not even that long ago that food tasted like food, not just flavors added...

Prior to my wanting to learn how to make my own herbal remedies and at the very beginning of my journey into learning about canning and dehydrating we lived in a very large home that we were hired to home-sit for two years in Colorado. In the backyard, there was a very long stand of Juniper pine trees, probably about twelve of them and they would be very full of these Juniper berries. If I had only known back then what I know today, I would have been in heaven. I used to help the little Chickadee birds set up their winter homes in those trees every year by leaving them dry grass, tiny twigs, and lint from our dryer which they would always take to fortify their winter homes in those trees for the really hard winters that we would have in Colorado. I really love birds, especially after a Robin made a nest and hatched her babies in a Christmas tree we had put out after the holidays in our backyard. I miss living in Colorado, so much to experience there. Sorry for the long chat, but you brought back some memories with your mention of Juniper berries. Thank you so much for this very informative video, I am learning so much from your videos and I am so grateful to you. May God always Bless you with good health, safety, and prosperity in all you do. ~SuzyJC-in-Central-Southeastern-Ohio_09.09.2023~

I've learned from you so that I now save all my vegetable scraps in the freezer each month, then add them to the pot each month when I prepare chicken bone broth. I once did beef bone broth and turkey bone broth. I'm still searching for beef bones, the pre-packaged bones I found in one store were way too expensive to my mind. I put the broth in muffin pans to freeze, then pop them out and store them in freezer bags. Sometimes I only need one "puck," and when cooking for my children and grandchildren, I'll use 2-4. They were so handy at Thanksgiving and Christmas! Many thanks Mary, and may God shower you with blessings! 🙏🏻🤗💖

I kindly recommend emphasizing the importance of labeling your blends. Uses, Side Effects, Interactions, Directions/Dosage. After all the efforts, research, and good intention involved it would be a unfortunate to negatively impact a loved one who should be taking an alternative herb simply because someone forgot in the heat of the moment. It would also be sad if someone were to take herbs or make a blend of herbs that had negative interactions when mixed or negatively impact someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. Thank you, Mary! Excellent video as always. ☀️

I have those books and love them! I use them on a regular basis I keep them on the counter. I think Kami’s book offers something very unique when it comes to herbal recipe books. It has filled a gap for me on my journey. Thank you for the print out I can’t wait to look over the other videos you mention. I’ve been on this journey for five years and all your advice is spot on, just do little by little and it will keep building! Ps. Love the fire in the back and your sacred heart image!

I love herbs and want to grow more. I have already gotten my seeds. I love "Juck Stores" - someone's junk is someone else's treasure. I have been collecting the flip top bottles - clear and dark. I even had a jar that got a crack in it and found another just like it at a thrift store except the rubber gasket was missing, so switched the lids - perfect solution and kept the cost down. One year at an auction, I got a coffee grounder for free. It has been perfect for making spices. I like to get certain spices in whole seeds and ground when needed. I love your videos and all the information you give out. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

I'm also so thankful for my parents! I think the idea of being prepared may have started because we live in Florida and hurricanes come around yearly, but then the real food and herbal medicine was brought in too and that was all just thanks to my smart think-outside-the-box mamma 😋 I'm working to stock up some medicinal herbs for my little family now, thank you for sharing this video with us! Would love to know which herb(s) you recommend begining with?

A lot of times I see where people will create a video but they will leave out certain important information. You don't do that. You provide every little detail which is so important especially when you're cooking and baking. I am just loving this healing pantry video! So inclusive, concise and informative!

A mix of Blue Vervain and lavender is also good for relaxing and falling asleep. I realize some people it won't work for, and some people might be allergic, but I do want to put it out there for people who can use it safely. I never had any problems with those herbs, and I have asthma, so I do consider it safe for most people. Still, start with a tiny amount made into a tea, maybe dilute with water and add honey or other sweetener. You can always add more later, but you can't add less if you are dead.

@@evegreenification Well, yea, you are tech true, I won't argue that. But you are leading people to think all herbal remedies are harmful. I do have trouble with that. Not all of them I have read are great or even good, but Mary does her work, she is safe. Adding a little sage if you aren't allergic, adding a little mint if you aren't allergic, these are commonly added to otc meds, just not always in therapeutic levels. It can't fix every thing, but what it can fix I am SOOOO grateful for! Thank you, Mary! and your friends who taught you!

Thank you, Mary, for this wonderful teaching about herbs and stocking an herbal medicine cabinet. Using herbs should be simple. In areas where it's legal, consider storing CBD oil. It's made from hemp. It doesn't get you high, contains little if any THC. THC is what makes you high. CDB has fantastic pain relieving properties.

You asked if there was anything we would add. I have a few. White sage mixed with chamomile and valerian root is extremely good for aches and pains from flu and cold and arthritis pain. You could also put a dropper of white willow bark for fever. The bark is what aspirin was made from originally. Black willow bark is a great salve for back and joint pain.
