0:00 Introduction: How to STOP Flatulence (Farting): THIS REALLY WORKS!
2:33 What causes flatulence?
4:39 How to restore stomach acidity
7:32 Food intolerance
8:31 Avoid these gas-producing foods
10:05 Avoid sugar alcohols
11:20 Avoid chewing gum
11:41 Avoid carbonation
In this video, we’re going to talk about how to stop flatulence.
The average person passes gas between 5 and 15 times per day with no odor. If you have a poor diet, you might experience more flatulence each day.
What causes flatulence? Check out these six causes and remedies for gas.
#1 Low stomach acidity
Flatulence is hydrogen and methane gas created by microbes in the process of carbohydrate and fiber fermentation.
This process is supposed to occur in your large intestine. When it occurs in your small intestine, this is related to SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). SIBO can cause many other digestive issues.
Your stomach pH should be between 1 and 3-this is highly acidic. Without high stomach acidity, your digestive process is put under stress, causing many digestive issues.
The best remedies for low stomach acidity:
• Betaine hydrochloride
• Apple cider vinegar
Ginger can also help soothe the stomach.
#2 Food intolerance
Another cause of gas is food intolerance. Lactose intolerance is a common problem that happens when your body lacks the enzymes that break down lactose. In turn, this causes excess gas. You can avoid lactose or take enzymes that help break down lactose.
Gluten intolerance is also common-if you’re on Healthy Keto, you don’t have to worry about gluten or grains.
Probiotics can help fortify your microbes and potentially increase enzyme production.
#3 Gas-producing foods
Avoid these common gas-producing foods:
• Fruit
• Beans
• Legumes
• Starches (like potatoes and rice)
• Sugar
• Certain cruciferous vegetables (Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage)
• Onions
Instead, consume more:
• Lettuce
• Tomato
• Zucchini
• Olives
• Avocado
#4 Sugar alcohols and fiber
Keto-friendly low-calorie sweeteners, sugar alcohols, and fiber can cause digestive discomfort when consumed in excess. If you begin to experience gas, reduce your intake of these keto treats.
#5 Chewing gum
Chewing gum and chewing with your mouth open can cause you to swallow excess air. Avoid chewing with your mouth open.
#6 Carbonation
Soda and other carbonated drinks can increase gas in your system.

I think if Dr. Berg ever got a TV show of his own Big Pharma would demand that the network remove it or they will refuse to buy advertising time from them. Big Pharma spends billions in advertising dollars to push their poisons on us. Today's TV networks couldn't survive without Big Pharma. Think about all the Big Pharma TV Ads that end with the likes of: "Side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat and even premature death. So ask your doctor if 'fill in the blank' is right for you."

Dr Berg you are a life saver. I'm in South Africa and so addicted in listening to your videos. Your videos are so helpful to me. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and haemorroghic ascites 10 years back. Last month I noticed my stomach was distended and my abdomen was painful when I pee. My period lasted 2 weeks and I thought I had fibroids or my ascites is back. I then CHANGED my diet. I stopped eating anything with sugars. Stopped dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt, eggs). I started drinking mint tea with fresh ginger and turmeric. Some days made hot lemon tea. I then reduced my meals to 2 a day. Today my stomach is as flat as a pancake. I can't believe looking at it. Thank you.

I've added goop (fortified yeast) to my salads.. more protein & healthy full fats to my meals so I don't snack at night. I include something fermented in all 3 meals, kimchi, miso, sauerkraut for allergies and use turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, onions, yellow potatoes (potassium) hibiscus, matcha tea for inflammation, diabetes & blood pressure issues... I drink keifer around 6:30-7 for extra vit d. Take a multivitamin, vit d and zinc. Ive cut out milk, butter, white flour & sugar, processed food. No vegetable oil premade salad dressings. Cook mostly with olive oil. I occasional have sweets but their no longer satisfying. So I'm not craving them as much. I walk everyday for at least 30 mins. It didn't happen over night. Everything I have tried from you has worked 💪🏽 and I've only tried minor things such as eating one to two Brazilian nuts that contain selenium to help with my alopecia and unhealthy scalp. 😅 I started mid summer after trying everything I could even a steroid scalp shot that I didn't want but my doc who gave it to me...after no hair growth for a year ...I found your video about hair growth ✨️ and to think you had many remedies and my lazy self only did the Brazilian nut everyday and it works. My scalp is healthier and my hair all grew back in the areas I was struggling with for a year in less than a month or so. My hair is shinier. I still struggle with mild scalp itch, but that's bc I sometimes forget to eat the Brazilian nuts for a few days or a week and lack discipline in caring for my scalp. I'm a single parent always doing everything alone so sometimes I neglect myself. Eating 1 to 2 pieces of Brazilian nuts is quick to do and you don't need much given they cost. Thank you Dr. Berg! Protect Dr. Berg! He is actually saving lives and helping people get healthy without so many doctors vists or instead of trying to keep us sick!!

I've found that when you stop eating gluten-grains/flours, refined oils, sugars & ultra-processed foods in general & your gut flora is allowed to become healthy via a "real whole food" diet, that flatulence & smelly gas isn't an issue. I eat lots of fresh veggies every week (including broccoli, cauliflower, etc.), fruits, chickpeas & other beans, etc. & have no issues like I did when I was younger & eating stuff on the earlier list that I gave about what not to eat.

Dr. Berg you left out drinking through a straw! I am a nurse and all post-abdominal surgery patients would be cautioned to not use a straw due to this problem. This happens to anyone drinking through a straw since when you swallow there is also air in the mouth being swallowed. Not a huge problem for most but for those already experiencing a lot of bloating or slowed gatric motility it is something to consider.

A lot of your videos make sense to me. I had the same issue when I tried going the vegan route. My cholesterol is high, however the more I look into it, keto sounds like it would make sense for me. I have internal scaring which affects my digestion, like had to go to the hospital from gas pain. However, garlic is my miracle food which stops the pain quickly and averts a night of writhing in pain.

You mention that with the right enzymes some food allergies would be under control like dairy intolerances, would this apply to other food allergies like casein in dairy products or egg york, carrots, caffeine, potatoes etc ? Really great advice. I just wish I wasn't so confused. I have severe osteoarthritis, cardiomyopathy, I'm pre-diabetic, fibromyalgia in my lower legs, mild diverticulitis, chronic frequency, insomnia, chronic depression (well managed) and flatulence. To say I'm lost and confused is an understatement. I have a lot of living to do but all I think about is that death is getting closer and I wonder if I’ll wake up in the morning. Hence the depression.

Dr. Berg, I just want to share that about 20 yrs ago, I discovered that the ONLY time I ever get gas is when I mix protein & starches in the same meal. And that's ANY starch, altho' greens & other low-carb veggies do not cause this & can be mixed with either protein or starches without forming gas. But mixing legumes w the two together results in copious amounts of gas in my gut. And this is true even when consuming any legume! If I have the legume in a meal with greens or other non-starchy veggies, I DO NOT get gas from it, whereas if I have it w any sugar or starchy carb, the gas is just as intense as it's reputation would lead one to expect! Hopefully this can be helpful for somebody.😉

@cherylh4688
@cherylh4688 2 жыл бұрын
@@deedeeseecee9294 I actually have that book, DeeDee, altho' I haven't looked in it for probably 25 yrs & only then for it's recipes. But the food combining issue began to be important to me while I was following the rules in another book - "The Body Ecology Diet" (BED). But altho' the rules were more complex than just not combining proteins & starchy carbs, that's the only one that stuck w me, and that's only bcz of the unexpected side benefit of no gas, lol! Btw, I just realized I made a typo in my original comment. I said combining legumes with "starches" resulted in gas, but I meant to say combining it w proteins, since it is, itself, a starchy carb. So combining it w other starches and/or low-carb veggies does NOT result in gas. Gas results only when I combine legumes (or other starches or high carb foods, incl fruit) with proteins (like milk, cheese, meat, eggs, etc.). Hope that clears up any confusion.
