12,000km is the recommended oil/filter change interval listed in the service manual for late model Kawasaki bikes. I use synthetic and change at this interval however manual does not specify synthetic. It is also the recommended a sync interval of 12,000km. It is also essential to do a sync immediately after a throttle body sync. There is no need however to change spark plugs at 12,000km, only inspect.

I'm not sure what you are saying on the synchronization of the throttle bodies. What I see in the service manual shows to have it inspected at 12,000km. Mine needed to be adjusted. Spark plugs show to be replaced at 7600 miles or 12000km also. Maybe the manual is different where you are?

I had been thinking of doing this with the V Strom. I have held off since it runs so smooth and I had so many FI issues in the beginning I would hate to upset the apple cart. Cool video. Going in the favorites.

Thanks man. I honestly never noticed a lope at idle till I put the after market can on it and gutted the cat. Maybe that upset air flow at idle? thanks for the comment and ride safe man.

I’m thinking of doing this soon to see if it eliminates some vibration during acceleration on my 2010 Zx6r. I’ve heard of people syncing there throttles and it removing bike vibrations in the bars.
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 жыл бұрын
#MLB_MotoVlogs not sure if that will help as the synchronization of the throttle bodies is only going to smooth out the idle it has nothing to do with acceleration, at least on the 636

I have a 09 zx6r. So do you or do you not need your air box hooked up while doing this? What about your injector showers? I’ve seen many people do it differently and it’s confusing me.
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 4 жыл бұрын
The airbox should not matter as you are trying to achieve the same vacuum from the throttle body to the engine. I'm not sure what you mean by injector shower?
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 4 жыл бұрын
I should add that the vacuum will start at the throttle plate when at idle.
@ScentseiMiyake

Piston Slap I just meant the secondary injectors on top of the air box, I guess. So I did this with the same tool and with the screws all the way backed out, normal idle with no throttle and all the fluids got sucked out. I returned it and got the dial vacuum gauges. They’re all synced now but my 09 zx6r is still sputtering at the recommended 1350 rpm idle. I have to turn the idle knob up to 2000 rpm and it idles/runs smooth but then it’s really hard to start with the idle speed that high. So I have to turn it down to 1500 rpm to get it started. I’m wondering if it’s my tps or something else.

@@ScentseiMiyake have you checked the valve clearance. Also the tool I used has to be calibrated so you don't suck all the fluid out of it. A sputter could be few things. Check all your clamps and fitting to make sure they are clean and tight
@ScentseiMiyake

Piston Slap yes, valves were adjusted by shop to try and fix the issues but didn’t help. I was calibrating the tool when the fluids got sucked out lol

did you know how many turn the default factory settings? mine screwed up badly, the idle worsened after i tried to sync it
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 жыл бұрын
I just checked the work shop manual to find it shows 0-2 1/2 turns out. Did you have the MAP sensor unhooked when you were syncing it?
@ryangampangingat
@ryangampangingat 6 жыл бұрын
thanks for the hassle, MAP sensor was plugged to another hose from shared vacuum line, so i got no blinking error, but as i turn the screw, there is no change in manometer reading, and i turned the screw too far each cylinder that i forgot to write down the default settings, so i had to turn in to full close, and now i had choppy idle, trying to resync again this weekend
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 жыл бұрын
ryancassandra It seems strange how the workshop manual shows 0-2 1/2 turns. Make sure you don't crank the screws in just lightly seat them. Also adjust the idle as needed to keep it in spec After each adjustment blip the throttle and let the engine stabilize. Hope that helps

Hi, got a Honda CB650R, and the bodies do not have the ports to connect the sync tuner, there are 4 EVAP ports and 3 MAP ports Do you think I can use the evap ports to sync tune? Thank you
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 4 жыл бұрын
I would think you could as long as there is vacuum at idle on the ports

could u help me get my bike figured out? i just bought a 06 zx14 and it sat 2yrs well code 62 which is subthrottle valve actuator malfunction... well i can see rpm jump to 2k rpms and i have wondered if the throttle body may be dirty causing it... now i hear the blades open when igntion key turn on and dont sound bad . i need to try cleaning the bodys but i think ive gotta remove it completely to look? i know its zx14 but maybe u know more than i do
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 жыл бұрын
Danger Davefpv I'm not sure on the zx14. I'd you have a code for that throttle body I would figure that out. You might go to a fourm.and down load a service manual for tour bike that way you will know what to check. If the bike has been sitting for 2 years I would start with fresh fuel and oil a long with any filters. Sorry I don't have more info for you.

so i drained gas before i even cranked it and used seafoam also in gas.. im hoping its easy fix or not expensive fix .. bike has 2540miles and i bought from friends mom long story there but 1500$ so i bought mobil 1 oil and k@n filter today and got that done. starting to hate dumb issues like this and i dont wanna drive it like this

Did you set your sync tool to the single highest vacuum on any throttle? Kawasaki service manual words it so technical it makes it confusing.
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 жыл бұрын
#MLB_MotoVlogs I didn't The manual didn't specify to use any particular throttle body. I just set the tool up the way motion pro wanted it. (You tie all the limes to a single port then calibrate the tool). Anyway I adjusted them to as close together as possible and trying to achieve the most vacuum. Hope that happens. I know mine idled a lot smoother when I was done.

Piston Slap did you notice a change in vibrations? Either through the bars or maybe the body panels or engine? Just s won’t if you could gauge or notice a differences in the engine vibration output through either of those things
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 6 жыл бұрын
#MLB_MotoVlogs not really any change on vibration. Like I'd said the biggest change I noticed was how smooth the bike idled. Mine had almost a cam type sound to it where the engine was loping a little bit. After I was done syncing the throttle bodies the idle was smooth with no lope at all.

you have to change your spark plugs every 600 miles? and also i have an 07 zx6r with two brothers slip on and when i start it its always weak doesnt have that deep sound , is that bc of the spark plugs or its just the way the bike is
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 8 жыл бұрын
Every 7600 miles on spark plugs. how deep a bike sounds could be the design of the slip on, if the cat had been removed, or the pre muffler. spark plugs being worn out would cause a misfire or low power stuff like that.
@ebubekirbinici6031
@ebubekirbinici6031 8 жыл бұрын
its probably the slip on then , i doubt the cat is removed bc the servo is still there. so what should i look for to tell if i need my spark plugs changed? my bike is at 12k miles and im not sure if the previous owner changed them before.
@PistonSlap
@PistonSlap 8 жыл бұрын
The service book for my bike shows the plugs should be replaced @ 7600 miles. If your bike has the same maintenance schedule as mine then that would be when you want to change them. I figure anything after that mileage your running on borrowed time. As I always want my bike to run its best. I have a spark plug video that shows what they look like. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qp96lZqC3bjeYH0.html So with all that I would check your owners manual for the maintenance schedule and if its time to replace them. Hope this helps

Hey, is your fuel priming sound even or does it change the pitch at the end? I'm trying to figure out if my sound is normal as it was nice and even on my previous bike - Honda. I'm not used to kawas so i'm not sure what is normal. Here's my sound: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qst6ptVhytTdZok.html

The fuel pump will change sound as the pressure is built up in the system I here a few things in your video. It sounds like they are firing the fuel injectors a few times to add fuel for starting.
