Don't give up! Rejection is part of the process of getting to meet different people. The more you try, the more you will get rejeced but also accepted! And with time and efforts you will develop new skills which will result in a fewer refusal ratio. :)

I just open with: Me: Excuse me. Do you got time 1 min? They: Ehm sure. (Little excited what i am going to say) Me: To answer this question: What makes you happy? They will then automaticly assosiate happy emotions with you! Now you are a friend and can talk about anything you would like! Always leave if they feel uncomfortable. Otherwise stay chatting!

1. Avoid sending foe signals- crossed arms, closing the chest, no gazing, flitting gazes, turtling your shoulders, lowering your neck to your phone, hidden hands behind bags, in pockets or beneath tables. 2. Send friend signals- open chest, open torso, shoulders back and down, loose arms while walking, direct eye upon approach and keeping it 60-70% of the conversation, smile. 3. Use "hey, how are you?" with your name as an opening line. This is effective because of its simplicity. 4. Shake their hand firmly. 5. Build rapport by saying who you are and how you arrived. Start a conversation. 6. Sit at the bar and use food as an opener. Note: I've added things from other Vanessa videos, podcasts I found fit for this topic

You’re right! Unfortunately, we have become a cold, distant, untrusting and fake society in our methods of just talking to many women. I have been told after just saying Hi! How are you? Response is F**k off by woman and worst response from (so-called) professional woman was F**k off and die. My back response was thanks and have a nice day and walked away! We need to get back to a more civil society!

If you want to start a good conversation with someone, just simply ask them any question that you are curious to get an answer to. It develops interest in you and the person you want to talk to. For example, when you travel alone in airplane or bus, you may want to start a small talk since silence sometimes is awkward for some. In that case, think about a question and ask. It's interesting to know what their perspective might be on different things you know about or either want to know about.

My dear people, you can do it!! It's not so hard!! Just say hi, introduce yourself, you can say anything, it is not so important what you say, be simple.. But you need to practice and your fear will disappear! I had also social anxiety... Every one of us is unique and great! We are all humans, and it's normal we have fears.

I have been in sales for over 40 years. Usually you can tell if someone is receptive to verbal contact through non verbal communication. The list is endless . . . confidence and a friendly approach are key to opening the door ! I'm a big guy with a presence, which in certain situations, find it less intimidating to withhold the handshake . . . Just my thoughts from many past experiences.

I have used both strategies but now use "How is your day going" with certain people just based on instinct vs "How are you today" because it can be overused and often taken as insincere since we don't know the person. I find asking how their day is going and controlling the conversation, humor can be used to really break the ice and if done wrong can come across as being negative. For example at a Convention people are tense and nervous so after their response, they ask how is my day going so it opens up as "As good as we can be being thrown into a crowd of people we don't know right?" and then chuckle. Most people just let out a huge sigh of relief knowing they are not the only one feeling that way and it becomes an instant ice breaker and opening the person up because you establish instant rapport. Anyway, food for thought!

Being attractive helps! What does everyone else think?
@graceontoast4463
@graceontoast4463 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely, but I think the stigma is what we expect from people based on what they look like and our own personal experiences. The balancing point though, is whether one comes off as cold rude or creepy, or warm, open and friendly. No matter who it comes from and what they look like, the tone and words used in their introduction will seal the first impression.

Nearly everyone has talked to strangers. We taught ourselves how to. We began at kindergarten and at school. Our mother taught us not to speak to strangers in regards to those on the street, because we are young. Once we’re older, it’s more safe and we should now have the skill to identity who is and isn’t a safe person to approach or speak to.

For anyone who has gone and talked to a stranger after watching this video, how did the conversation go? For me I went and sat down at a cafeteria near someone with a cast and I asked them how they hurt their wrist. They told me how they hurt it during volleyball. And I'm super antisocial and awkward so I just didn't say anything afterwards and ate me food. Conversation over.

But even when approaching with open hands, you can come across creepy, needy, weird, etc. I'd like if the video could go on more about of what you actually can talk about and how to get the other person interested in talking to you.

I agree with you on this video Vanessa! You are so positive and I appreciate you taking the time to make this video! I learned a lot from you in this video! Don't talk to strangers needs to die, especially as people get older because we should take the liberty to interact and connect with one another in public to make the world a better place. The conversations need to be clean, positive, and polite in order for the interaction to go right. When I approach people in public, like at a store, park, dojo, or mall, I make sure I'm in front of them, and give them space so people can feel comfortable around me and with what's happening around them. I also make sure my conversations are about 5 minutes on the first conversation. I enjoy greeting people in public, especially as a TJMAXX worker, and as a student at a dojo I train at! With kids, they can interact with strangers under parental supervision. In today's world, it should be feel free to talk to strangers! Thank you Vanessa for making this video! I appreciate you, way to spread positivity, and keep spreading positivity!

There are natural deodarants that use minerals that also have a antiperspirant effect. You can spray them on your hands. You can also consider using a deodarant stone/crystal which will help temporarily reduce perspiration from your hands.

Palaecro deodorant crystal? wtf? First of all deodorants and anti perspirants are two different things, and second of all I don't think a stone could clog the pores of which you sweat out of. To op, get certain dri.
@Palaecro
@Palaecro 7 жыл бұрын
+ZΔCH First off, I never said they were the same thing "There are natural deodarants that use minerals that also have a antiperspirant effect." ALSO have, obviously though people value something that can yield a dual effect would you not agree? Is basic. So you're saying when you've experimented with Minerals Rock salt products you had a different experience that defies our modern understanding of the bio-chemical interaction? Or are you just labeling your ignorant uneducated opinion on the topic as carrying weight? Hold on... I'll point you towards the science since your data seems to conflict with mainstream understanding of salt and moisture - Salt absorbs water moisture because it is an ionic compound with strong attractive forces for the highly polar water molecules. This property means that salt is hygroscopic, meaning that it absorbs both liquid water and water vapor in the air. As well as moisture on our hands. Potassium salts are used as well. Mineral stones have this effect in addition they kill bacteria that causes odor... They even have liquid forms of this stuff that have won awards. They don't last as long as chemicals of course but they're working through a different method entirely. Just because someone says something you don't understand and you disagree with doesn't make you right. It means you don't know.
@zttvs
@zttvs 7 жыл бұрын
Palaecro My bad on my first bit, I should have read closer. However you literally copied that shit, so I don't think you can call me uneducated; especially when everyone learns how salt reacts with moisture in grade school. And sodium chloride is much different from potassium chloride. If you're talking about potassium alum, that is no different than the aluminum that is found in Axe. please link me to a "natural mineral" antiperspirant product that doesn't have aluminum. and my guy you have absolutely no chill lol

It usually goes like this for me: ' how are you' -> introduction -> blank stare
@marionwest3661
@marionwest3661 Ай бұрын
People always say how are you? Obviously, they don’t want to hear how you actually are. It’s a stupid introduction tactic, and means zilch. Try something more original.
