I loved Hualien. I met some amazing backpackers at my hostel, befriended a Taiwanese person that will now visit me this year and the scenary was increadible. Without a doubt my favorite city in my whole 1-month trip!

Very beautifully vlogged. I really love how you guys go into a certain depth about what you see and experience. The story about the locals, the aborigines. This is what culture, life, community and being is all about. We all have a history, a path, and share the same root of evolution. I really felt as if I was there with everything. You guys should definitely do this for the rest of your lives. Incredible vlogging!

You know, Damian being part of a Taiwanese indigenous tribe isn’t as far fetched as you think. Taiwanese indigenous people are considered the origin of the Austronesian language/ethnic group. At some point a small group left the south of Taiwan on oceanfaring boats and ended up becoming the progenitor to the populations of the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pacific Islands, New Zealand Maori and beyond.

Taroko was absolutely stunning. I did the Baiyang trail after the zhuilu trail which was also nice. Thank you for sharing this experience with the aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. It's a miracle that these traditions have survived until now after more than 350 years of efforts by colonial powers to eradicate them. This country-island belongs to a S-shaped series of archipelagos that allowed ancient sea nomads from South-East Asia and the Pacific to sail and trade north- and southward.
