How to undercut door jamb with an undercut saw. An undercut saw can be very helpful when installing tile floors, the door jambs can be undercut quickly and easily. An undercut saw is most useful when there are multiple door jambs that need to be cut, An oscillating tool can be used to do the same thing, but will take much longer and be more difficult, an undercut saw is preferable for long cuts or there are many doors that need to be undercut. The guide or base is set to the correct height allowing for underlayment, tile and thinset thickness and the jamb can be cut with little effort. It is advisable to first set the correct height, cut one jamb and then check for fit, once the correct setting is found then all the cuts can be made in minutes. The result will allow for a faster cleaner and easier installation of the tile floor with a professional look.
