Well done, this is super easy to follow! Thank you for including the power management at the back, I definitely wouldn't have thought to take it that extra step if not included!

Before I saw this video I was replacing a battery in a MBP and couldn't remove it, I'd missed the third screw on the left under the flap ! (also I was going to skip step 3) thanks so much !

Hi, I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro as shown (or at least very similar) to the one in the video. I have to use the power adapter 100% of the time because even the computer tells me the battery condition: Replace Now. However, it's recently started randomly powering off. Could this problem also be solved by replacing the battery? Any input or help someone could give would be greatly appreciated!

😢 Excellent demo for replacement. My 2010 needed batt replacement - bought one and life got in the way- so it sat for a few years. Now it in. One issue is the fans used to turn on at high rpm. New batt - sitting with computer on , the fans still turn on , then fade away then on again- batt drains to 86% in 20 min - I’m not using it - just sitting with High Sierra picture. What can I do?

It looks like you need a special tool to remove screws that hold the battery. Those are shaped differently from a normal Phillips.

***** Thanks for the reply. It's probably worth mentioning that when I buy a battery from you then there will be both tri-lobe and Pentalobe P6 screwdrivers included into the package along with the battery itself. I went on and bought a set while waiting for my battery to arrive, only to learn that there's everything you need in that package.

I will be ordering a battery shortly. One question. Does running Chrome on my Macbook pro lap top stress my battery or processor? I appreciate any answer

Chrome does use a lot of processing power on my macbook pro. Firefox feels much lighter.

It’s definitely much heavier than stock standard safari, after years of using chrome? I dumped it and stick to Mac browser for nearly all my surfing needs

There is NO reason to totally draining your battery, and if anything, you could harm the battery life. Apple recommends discharging by using battery power to about 40% at least once or twice monthly. DO NOT discharge all the way till the computer shuts off!
