Love the Pro-HC. Which irrigation controller are you using?

I've gotten a few votes for the Rachio Lawn 2 Learn. Remote operation is a super nice feature. Haven't decided if I'm getting a personal weather station for it as yet.

Very nice Pacific Northwest Lawns. I hear really good things about the Rachio 3 too.

I like it. Although mine is indoors, the the case is super rugged. Nice that it can be placed outside if you wanted. More of a commercial grade unit.

If you're going to dig up your lawn, now would be the time. With all the heat we have, it'll recover faster. It was around this time last year that Alex had his irrigation installed.

If the Rachcio supports adding a local station that could work. Pretty sure the Hunter supports it adding a local station for the best possible control.

I too like to try new tech. I just don't think I can rely on a local weather station or even this unit that says it monitors local radar. I have a rainbird controller with the wifi module and have had no issues. My on site data is my wireless rain sensor that can be put anywhere. Can't beat that.

I can see that 2shotsofvaca. My rain sensor has never worked though. Even when new, it never worked for me. Would still water even after a rain shower.

@@RonHenry id assume it’s a Bluetooth issue or frequency interference issue. It works every now and then but it’s hit or miss

I was told that they’re usually only good for 6 months or so. In my case, it never worked.

@@RonHenry No doubt. Love your content. You're a techie like me so you may spend hours playing with the app. A smart controller made life a lot easier. especially whan out.of town. Only recommendation I have is to get a personal weather station next. Didn't think I needed it unti I got one. Now I use it combined with the weather forecast to determine if I hit my minimum amount of rain and observe weather trends for my specific property. It also connects with my controller too

@@RonHenry Not sure off the top of my head but ambient weather (which I got off of Amazon) is compatible with several controllers through weather underground and similar sources.

Does it connect wirelessly or does it need to be hard wired?

I've never used the Racchio so can't compare them really. I know Hunter products are just about bulletproof, so just opted to stick with the same brand as everything else in the system.

The Rachio is the Mercedes of Residential Sprinkler controllers. It is unbelievably well done. The app is so informative you could play in there for hours 😉👊🏼
