Good tutorial however all but one device was 3rd party VSTs, I'd like to see how people can use Reason 12 stock devices more to do similar tasks.

bro, there is synths, eq, reverb and delay in reason. Portal was only that you need to create your self with modulation in syth.

Can't you do all this with the mixer send/returns? Is there a sonic difference?
@sinewaymusic
@sinewaymusic Жыл бұрын
I believe that's identical. The only difference is that you have an infinite number of parallel channels and only 8 sends. Another benefit of parallel tracks is you can solo them. A benefit of send channels is that any number of tracks can share the same send.

I wished Reason would give us some decent analizing on board tools. The eq with options to dial in more tracks for comparison, maybe some dynamic processing also. A decent scope like Oszillos or Psyscope. Maybe a talk with the Fabfilter guys to make some ReFabs ❤

@@Audiomuscle Thx for your detailed reply, therefore comes my next question, so i don’t really need the send section wich is limited to 8 slots anymore? Or ar least use them for the busses? I have issue’s while mixing, it sometimes getting pretty cloudy. Especially one instrument uses two delays from the mastersection and one huge reverb. I think I’ll reroute them to parallel for better control

I saw this tutorial a few days ago, really liked it, and was curious about something. Is is possible, when creating parallel channels further down the effects chain, to have those effects stack up? For example, I have a bassline and created a parallel channel with a delay and mixed it in. I want to add a chorus to the mix to give it some more presence but even though the chorus channel is a parallel created from the delay line, there is no delay in the chorus signal. Would this be a situation where i'd need to put both effects in the same channel or route the cables differently on the back?
@ontheruntonowhere
@ontheruntonowhere 8 ай бұрын
The short answer is no. You can't stack effects because each parallel channel uses the OG dry signal. You'll need to add the chorus after the delay on the same parallel channel.
