In this episode I demonstrate how to swap the Datsun oil pump drive out and install it and the oil pump while the engine is in the car. Applicable to all L series Z cars and perhaps other L series datsuns.
I’m completing this exercise as part of a 280ZX turbo distributor swap to my Megasquirt MS1 ignition controlled Datsun 240z L28 stroker.
The splined turbo oil pump drive spindle I’m using is from Kameari Race Works from Japan. I found this product is a cheaper alternative to the Nissan OEM when importing to Australia.
