My wife and I spent 5 days in Paris. I believe on day 3 or 4 some middle eastern refugee tried to pick pocket me. Luckily I was able to knock the guys hand right as he went into my pockets.

Dear! That's also exactly what happened to us while we tried to get a tickets from that vending machine! The guy looks like middle eastern or could be from africa not sure but he was difinitely on a darker skin. After paying with my own card the tickets came out. But when I was about to grab it, the little window wont open so I could not get the tickets and he said he Will try his card and it opened and held it and told me I have to pay him coz he paid for it and I said no! Since I already paid for it. I had to open my phone app to show that i paid for the tickets. That when he gave in. They try their best to get something. But Always be on guard! Btw! Love you guys! We found the Parisians very willing to be helpful. Outside of Paris...not so much. But we loved France and hope to go back. Yeah...any and all big cities you have to use street smarts...Urban Rules I tell my daughter. But we felt very safe at night in Paris...and New York...and London...but we stay street smart. Looking forward to your next video and I hope your mom enjoyed the trip too.

Yes unfortunately Paris is famous in Europe for lots of scams/thefts but that's mainly because it's the #1 destination in Europe so ofc a lot of crime is focussed there. It's mostly enjoyable if you're careful enough like most tourists but some act really naive and show off their money or carry a lot of cash. Today I'd say almost everything is cashless so do yourself a favor and don't carry too much cash on you. Lucky for you it was 'only' 30 euros. Btw I'm a local in Belgium and once I tried to help an old Asian couple in one of our metro stations and they told me to go away. I felt really bad because I wanted to help. I hate when tourists have a bad experience so if I see someone who needs help I'll help. But other times tourists welcome my help. 😁

I'm just curious as to how much research you all did prior to heading to France (Paris & etc...)? No matter what country you visit, it's good to have an open mind about things, but it's also good to be skeptical about people's intentions (esp. when it comes to foreigners or tourists) when they are voluntarily willing to help (they may take advantage of your situation or look at you as an easy opportunity or target w/o even thinking twice).

There was a time when they charged to use the rest rooms in Phila, PA in the downtown area, but this no longer exists as far as I know. It's bad if you have an emergency and no change. Do the streets of Paris have an oder from this?

I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience! As a french canadian, going to Paris was bomb... it's an amazing city if you have friends that live there & know where to go. Sadly, most of the main attractions are tourist-traps. :/

I lived there a few years and visit many many times, you have to be very careful in Paris, lots of scammers, I lived in the Netherlands the most of my life too and went to Paris many many times, it’s changed a lot and not nice anymore. The Eiffel Tower at night is beautiful but in the daytime it’s not nice, and all the venders running away when they see police, most of them are illegal. No free restrooms in Europe like here in the USA.something else, why Justin never hold you?

Luv luv Paris. Tip on using any self serve machine anywhere-subway, train, grocery store etc. U MUST block the machine with your body if alone or both of u block the machine. This prevents strangers from reaching in from behind you. When u hear “may i help you” & it’s not a worker, you answer “no thank you”. Second remember to download an app on your cell phone to translate most foreign languages. Very helpful.
