I can see Wrexham going for some of the ambitious signings. I’m more thinking from a Disney Chanel audience than just football. They won’t want to be stuck in League One for more than 2 seasons or the storyline gets drawn out too long. So from that point of view throwing money at trying to go up first time around then sitting in the championship for a few season might be the plan. Think of it like getting to the prem or champions league in football terms. There are levels where clubs throw money at it just to get to a level, and they know the money will come in if they succeed. Getting out of L1 in documentary terms is kind of the equivalent. Then the drama is getting to the prem before audiences start to lose interest in Wrexham. So I wouldn’t be too surprised if some of the signings you’ve called ambitious in reality turn out to be quite reserved. In the National League they bought a few League One players and I think now they’ll be looking at established championship players. As far as drama goes if you think about it, getting into League 2 was a must (the documentary would be struggling if they were still nation league) and the same kind of applies with L1 & L2. The first L2 season was novelty of being back in the league and had a promotion. So they’re going to want to skip to the Championship because what’s the difference really in trying to go up in L2 & L1 for a few seasons without succeeding? Very little from a view pov. So I think they’ll go all in for the championship.

Good breakdown, I think Ollie Palmer will go (he wants to get back to a London club for family etc) We need to keep Okonkwo but there is a lot of interest in him from Championship sides and teams in Europe, so it will all depend on Arsenal. Realistically I think a mid table finish would be a good result, Play offs would be Disney’s dream but the quicker we go up the leagues the easier it is to come back down. Parkinson has been a legend for Wrexham but can I see him taking Wrexham to the next level I’m really not sure. Jordan Davies will stay, his off screen situation with his wife and the support from the owners I think will keep him at the club for this coming season. I think they will make some good signings in the summer, there is a certain draw to play for Wrexham at the moment. However, too long in one division and that interest will soon start to wain. Everyone thought Wrexham and Notts County would do back to back promotions. Notts County started well but are now sitting in the lower half of the league. Wrexham were as good as any of the top 3 sides throughout the season with all of them having a dip in form at one part in the season. Wrexham at home are a tough opponent it’s their away record that has been up and down, that said they did what they set out to achieve and who knows what will happen next season, there are some big established clubs in league one, Wrexham could do it again (nothing would surprise me) but a mid table finish as good as that is will see Parkinson get replaced. Play offs and they’ll keep him for another season. Whatever happens will be interesting to see, either way Disney gets another series out of it!!

Mostly bang on i think , id let hayden go aswell. waste of a wage way to inury prone these last 2 seasons, and cant afford someone in the 22 to take a place who hardly plays and out with injury. Cant see why the club cant not get at least in the play offs if recruitment is a good one.

I’d expect them to finish outside of the playoffs. That being said, PP is a witch at promoting teams that have no right to get promoted. It may not be pretty, but he’s affective. Key is Mullin healthy for a full season. Keeping his strike partner is critical. AO needs to be resigned as does Mcclean. Need another OP clone to develop. Dalby isnt a good choice.

At least 8 players need to be replaced. Otherwise, no way they can be promoted to the Championship.

I would acquire Macaulay Langstaff as striker, and pay the 1.5 million transfer fee for him. He is 27, in his prime, and teamed with Mullin, would give opponents nightmares. I would rather have Langstaff than an aging Championship striker for the same price.

Last year I was convinced that this team, without new players, would definitely finish in the top third in League 2. With the few new additions they managed to get promoted. If Wrexham finished mid-table (14 - 10 ) in League 1 with just 1-2 new additions from the Champions League, that would be a fantastic success. Repeat this for another 3-4 years, moving up 1-2 places every year, then in 4-5 years Wrexham will be in the Champions League with a solid, sustainable top team. If the new Kopp stand will be ready in 2025, that will help also a lot.
