Ah, I absolutely see the difference. And you notice it in the advanced Polers. It’s one of my favorite things to watch. My hands are always so stiff. Working on it. It’s truly a talent.

My issue is that my hands are EXTREMELY sweaty. My teachers say I don't hold on the pole tight enough but I literally slide off because of the sweat without even opening my hands. It's so frustrating!

What have you tried so far to minimize the sweat? Since when are you poling?

@@ThePoleDancer I started just over a month ago and I've purchased two gripping products (polipole shake&dry and shake&grip) but my sweat tends to break through them after a few minutes. I've tried a stronger liquid chalk that my teachers use and it seems to work too well 😂 I might purchase that one and use a combo of these products to see what works. I constantly clean the pole and dry my hands on a towel but that doesn't help very much

@@d.on.in.a Hi Donatella! I wish I could share a recent talk I gave at a pole dancer’s summit about GRIP. I hope that I can upload the video here soon. First of all, it’s normal that as a beginner you sweat more at the beginning. Generally, there are several reasons: 1. SKIN - Some people have more sweaty skin than others. This might stay with you during your pole journey, but usually gets better as you get stronger. In the most excessive form it could be Hyperhidrosis, but this is quite rare. 2. STRENGTH - Will improve, as you get stronger. I recommend the first exercises of this pole conditioning video: thepoledancer.com/conditioning 3. CONFIDENCE - This will also get better. With practice you’ll start focusing more on the technique, which should distract you from any grip issues. 4. TECHNIQUE of holding the pole - Focus on holding more with your palm. Squeezing too much with the fingers would create a gap in your palm, which doesn't provide a good grip. Here’s a quick tutorial: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtJ0p8-H0djPnoU.html Besides cleaning the pole and the hands, what also helps is washing your hands with cold water often during your practice. If you’re using anti-perspirant, make sure you don’t use too much of it. Apply only a thin layer. Every 3-4 applications remove completely by washing your hands, then re-apply. Thick layers of grip aid make it slippery again. I hope this helps.
