Hi this video is about kitchen cornices. You may do all the kitchen wall & base units great but the finishes make the kitchen great So I'm showing how to cut the cornices, glue together and also fill gaps that may show. Hope it helps.

love the trick of using angle grinder tool to stop cornice twisting when you cut it on chop saw. just the right thickness

Its called a pelmet used on the bottom of the unit and cornice for the top

blind leading the blind here - sand it down to create a gap, then fill the gap. Then ignore the other big misalignments. Exactly why I do my own work... if you want to have it done right then nowadays you have no choice to do it yourself.

The other option is use the wax that comes in the repair pack the kitchen manufacturer supplies to fill in any gaps, its the SAME colour exactly so you can't even tell what's wax and what's wood

Thanks for this. You give good detail on the importance of the blade, but then the video just leaps to making the cut not showing how to acheive the correct angle. I am a complete beginner with my mitre saw, so could have done with better instruction on getting the angle lined up and securing the wood.. (I know, I can go find that on here somewhere else, but would have been really good to have it all one one instruction video. Kinda pertinent)

There is a scale of angle degrees on every mitre cutter base.

@@DavetheVillaFan you can check the blade for square with a try square ie when it is vertical. Also you can get a little digital measuring tool for a few quid which will measure any angle, they are very good and cheap now.

If you can't work out how to dial in your mitre saw you shouldn't have one 😂 or be attempting ANY diy jobs
