Ivan, you're the man! I got my computer back today and the temperatures dropped drastically!!!!!!!! My temps are down by 30 degrees! My machine also doesn't make so much noise. Thank you for making this, I started worrying about my unit because of all the noise it was making because it was too hot. One thing though, do not advise novices to tear down their computer and upgrade themselves if they are unfamiliar because it was frustrating for me to try and put back together. A novice would need probably a 2 hour tutorial step by step to figure out and after hours of trying to figure out, I just paid for a computer shop to put together because time is money. Despite all of that, your recommendations on parts & diagnosing why the Omen 30L makes so much noise at stock was spot on. Please make other videos on upgrading this unit!

Is it possible to mount the AIO as an exhaust on the front, and would a triple fit there? Also, is there any GPU sag? Last question, can you check if the stock GPU support bracket would fit under the GPU to possibly support its weight?

You can mount AIO in the front up to 360 I believe, but I personally don't like that configuration, I prefer fresh unobstructed air in and exhaust on the top. The GPU sags slightly and I was actually looking for an elegant way to prop the back side, but not finding anything good so far.

Did a case swap, it made a MASSIVE difference to my gpu temps; it went from 80c to 73c. Currently using the Corsair 220t

I just finished doing a similar upgrade with my dad's Omen 30L using your video as a reference. It's a night and day difference as to how the machine runs now. Great cooling and the Omen 30L (3080) runs dead silent. Thanks for these videos. Helped a lot in knowing which components to buy. I'd buy you a beer but...you know...Covid.

The RGB on case is controlled by the Cooler Master controller that comes with it

Is this system intel or amd? And did you have to take the backplate off the motherboard? My friend is doing this with his intel and he didn't switch the backplate. His temps are high and I'm thinking the mounting pressure is off, but I'm not sure.

Yes Intel, and the back plate is the one that comes with the EK AIO

Thank you so much for this video! I swapped out my case with a cooler master td500 and switched from stock air cooler to an aio cooler. I do have the system fan error on boot up though like mentioned in your video . Do you know how to get around or fix this ?

I guess I got lucky with my setup, as the AIO, rear and front fans are matching the RPMs of the stock ones, so I get no errors. I think the issue is with low start rpms, the stock fans start at very low ones and if you have fans that start at higher, you might get an error.

So as a bit of a novice, would the i7 run cooler and not need to change the heating system or would it still be recommended to do so? Answers would be much appreciated. Thanks for the video!

The I7 is indeed running a bit cooler, but depending on your ambient temperature it might be recommended to change the case and upgrade the cooling. If your CPU is not going over 80C, should be fine.

@@7MINJAE HP is using a separate control board for the RGB with custom headers, so really going to be difficult.

Hi! Im having temp problems with my 30l even after undervolting it. My r9 5900x is running at 90 celsius in some games and being really really noisy. I currently have the omens stock mini aio cooler but I would like to get it replaced with an air cooler. Do you have any suggestions what air cooler I can fit into it nicely without any other work. Did this case change improve your "GPU Memory Junction Temperature" Aka VRAM temps? I am finding that with my Omen30L the Vram is consistently at 106 - 108C degrees during heavy load. Have you replaced your thermals for your 3080 GPU? If so what thermal pads did you use on the GPU?

No I have not touched anything on the 3080 and now almost a year later still have no issues with it, don't pay too much attention to the GPU temps, they are within the same ranges of any other 3080.

So, went Corsair 4000D, H100X cooler, swapped the exhaust with a ML120, front with 2 ML140 and highest temp at crazy CP settings was 72c, 3080 at 72c top as well! Best 150 I’ve ever spent.

I have a question i dont if you still have the omen 30l bir since we git the bios update an we can overclock the ram i notice something weir and i dont know if is my pc but on the omen gamin hub application i click on turbo the computer reboot and supposedly the ram should be overlooked but when i go to the bios andncheck the xmp profile is set to default no to xmp1 does this happen to you?

Hello I have AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900X processor (64 MB cache my cpu temperature when playing valorant is 85C and it is also very loud can I use this case that you showed in the video or do you recommend another case? What kind of case I would have to take Aio with the omen is the 120aio in it and that's clearly not enough?

Yes this case is great, but any well ventilated case would be, and 120AIO would be fine in a good case

Hello, thank you for your tutorial. 2 small question, -is that I can do without the card that controls the RGB? (if the rgb does not interest me) -My watercooling requires a usb plug on the motherboard, can I recover the port called Musb from the rgb controller that I disconnected? (is a usb port usable or reserved for the rgb controller?) Dsl I do not speak English, not easy to follow the tutorial ^ thanks for reply.

So the RGB board I didn't use in the new case, but it's connected to to USB 2, I have to see if it's regular and if can be used for a pump

hello, I transferred everything in a corsair 5000d airflow box, with an aio corsair 115 (plugged in sata+cpu fan, and the usb cable plugged on the Musb port). Ivan my guy, thank you again for these videos on the Omen 30l. I didn't know how to build a pc a year ago and now I do and have built 4 systems and feel comfortable. I decided to upgrade my rig motherboard with a Asus ROG MAXIMUS XII Formula Z490. I wanted build a budget system for my nephew with the the Omen motherboard and pair it with a 10100F since they are only $70. The stock Omen motherboard for 10th gen Intel CPUs had weird power issues with the lower end Cpu. It would work sometimes and randomly wouldn't boot and I'd get hit with either a fan error or a CMOS error. After a week I gave up and got another motherboard and it worked. Question, does it make sense that the 10100F wouldn't work on a board that supports the 10850k? They come from the same family.

For people that doesn't want to change case or change the aio because of cost, a lower solution would be to just change the AIO rad Fan with a much more efficient and silent 120mm fan which would lower the temp from 5 to 10 degree just by changing the fan, (seen on my 30L)

@@WhiteWolfTechGaming Longevity doesn't matter, unless you are running it 24/7 overclocked, over 10 years, that CPU should be fine. The temps might drop a little bit but your performance too, that's why I don't mess around with it.

Would upgrading the stock CPU liquid cooler on the Omen-30l be a viable solution to the over-heating problems? Unfortunately I just ordered an Omen 30l with an i9-10850k and a 3070 but it comes with a liquid cooler made by coolermaster? Not sure if the stock one also sucks. Also going to be gaming in 1440p so hoping the GPU lends a helping hand...

Watch the whole video, I said any I9 version would require an AIO upgrade, the stock one is just not capable to handle the load.

@@Jessejay415 You can't use 240mm AIO in the stock case, and every 120mm one will not going to manage the heat of the I9's. Pretty much every 240mm and above can do the job, but I really like that EK unit I used for mine.

Nice job, probably more than most people would do though. Certainly more than I'm going to do. I'm wondering though, what if I were to replace the glass panel on the 30L case with some fine mesh? It may not look pretty but it's just sitting under a desk - would you think that would also be effective? Mine is only an i7 processor, I haven't actually noticed much overheating yet, although I've only had it a few days.

If you have the I7 version, don't even bother, the I5 and I7's are controlled well with the stock AIO, the problem is with the i9's .

So I have the Omen 30L 3080 and i9 I watched your vid on it and yes it gets loud and I check temps and they all go high and it concerns me what would you suggest are the best things to change like what case exactly I don’t really have a price range? I’ll do what u have too. To make it more usable. Any help would be great I’m new to this and since prices went high I kinda was stuck with this prebuilt.

Any well ventilated case will work, Phanteks P360A, P400A... This Cooler Master, Montech Air X, Air One.

@Unobxna Have a 30L atm and I replaced every fan with cooler master, including aio fan, exhaust fan I went with a Noctua fan. Added a third fan in the empty space below the gpu for more air flow and to help with static pressure. Gpu temps are high 20’s low 30’s on Home Screen, cpu is mid 40’s to low 50’s. All I could do with a restrictive case. But I’m going to upgrade to a bigger case with a 360mm aio, and possibly up to 12 fans, bigger psu as well.

Quick question I have the omen 30l 1660 super amd 5 what FPS should I be getting in warzone I saw a few videos on KZfaq where people are getting 120-130 same cpu feel like it’s under performing for this being my 1st gaming pc lost trying to figure it out I am stuck at 90-100 FPS and that’s low settings

Yes of course, you will definitely get better temps. My choice was only driven by purely esthetical reasons, I wanted to keep the small footprint on my desk.

Hi for your second M.2 slot it originally had a cover over it. How did you end up removing it to access the 2nd M.2 slot because I removed the screw but the plastic just won't budge.

Should of shown a HD monitor view before AND after. Have this unit and have never seen any unusual high heat with I9 10900? maybe using Intel extreme tuning just had the setting in a stable mode.

The Issue is only with the I9 CPUs, all the rest are doing fine with the stock AIO.

Yes 100%, as majority of the work will be done by the CPU, your temps will be over 90c all the time. New case and cooling are a must.

@@HardwareSense I disagree, the case isn't the best for air flow but a better cpu cooler alone will do the trick. Most of these have overheating issues and it's been solved. New cpu cooler usually does the trick better fans will help too.

Great video--thank you. I have an Omen 30L with the I-7 10700 and an RTX3080; I use it mostly for VR. It was fine for a year, but now the heat is spiking in the 90+ to 100 and it is throttling. I repasted the AIO but no difference. I was considering doing what you did in this video; however, you advised others with the I-7 that it was not necessary. So I wanted to double check with you to see if there is something else that I should be considering first. Thank you.

Thank you for this video! I'm a novice and have the Omen 30 l 10850 w/3080 like you and it gets hella loud. I think it would be easiest if I just copy what you did including the case but I worry because the case you recommended only has 2 USB ports in the front. The stock omen has several ports in the back and a USB c port. Is there a case that you recommend that's similar to the Omen Stock case which is lovely and keeps the same amount of ports?

For some reason your first comment was removed by KZfaq and I couldn't reply. So the stock case has only 2 USB 3s in the front, the only USB-c is in the back, this is part of the motherboard, so no matter what case do you get, it's still going to be there. If you want a really good case with a lot of options and good price, get the P360A from Phanteks.

I recently purchased an Omen with a Ryzen 7 5800x and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. I've seen cpu and gpu temps between high 70s to about 83-ish degrees celsius while gaming. Outside of that, the temps have been significantly lower. Do you think I will need to be doing this cooling upgrade? Also nice job on your upgrades! Looks great!

Your temps look fine, and the Ryzen is running significantly cooler than the I9 10850/10900, so probably not worth the upgrade for you.

I also have the 30 LRyzen7 5800x + GeForce RTX3060 Ti... I upgraded my fans to noctua and had a significant drop in both temps and noise. Gaming at full loadim at 75ish and hella quiet. Thinking about doing a case swap soon, im kinda unhappy with the air intake situation even with the upgraded fans. Edit** Before i was getting 90-95 degrees and the fans super loud

Let's put it this way, even with the best aftermarket 120mm AIO, you are looking at a few degrees difference, while the nose will be much better, it's still going to be pretty loud,,considering the stock one is like leaf blower, the aftermarket one will be like a hear dryer

I have a 30L on the way with an i9 10850K / RTX 3080 and am anticipating cooling issues. If I keep the computer, I will likely swap out the case and the AIO. When you swapped out the AIO, did you have any issues with using the system fan connector / cooling pump connector? I saw a post where there were some booting issues using a 3rd party AIO.

Hi I'm planning both a Case swap and Mobo Change. I don't have the Omen yet (it's on order) . I'm wondering if the 750 watt Cooler Master Power Supply, also has an 8 Pin besides the 4 pin. (or a 4x4) need 8 pin for new Mobo... Side note: watched all your video's and read the threads on HP forum. Which Helped me, in my decision to move to a new case... (seen and read too many things about the Omen running HOT) I Decided on a Corsair 4000D Case, ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming , and adding a 240 Corsair AIO.. (6) 120mm Fans Total, I want to use everything Else from the Omen. CPU, Graphic Card, RAM, Power Supply, and the WD Black 1TB M.2... (I do have Cable Extensions for the power supply... )..

I added 2x8GB HyperX Fury RGB sticks (non HP) to my machine for 32GB total and all four sticks work fine with the Omen software RGB control. Had to use XTU to get the two extra sticks running at full speed, though.

I just bought a 30l with a 10700k and a 3090, 16gb of ram, didn't think I'd have the same memory issue as I did with my OMEN 15 laptop. I at least found ram to worked with that, but not the desktop. Haven't built a computer since 2006ish(used to help my dad sometimes). Would it be a good idea to get a new case and motherboard and transplant the CPU, GPU, well I guess that's about it. 😆 Oh can't forget about the SSDs, the HDD can come too. You know, I'm just gonna take the GPU out and build a new PC with that. 🤣 😭 I need 32gb of ram at least and the i9 I could really use, would obviously melt itself.

I was wondering all i do is play apex legends and warzone on COMP (low settings) for max fps. I got The omen 30l with 3080 card and I7. My max cpu temps are 83. Is that too hot? One thing thats really is enoying is The loud sound of The fans. Witch fan should i swap to get a queet pc and meybe lower The temps. Really love omen case

The temps are not bad, all configurations with I5 and I7 are fine, now the sound is high as the AIO fan spins a very high rpms in order to keep the temps lower, even if you replace it with the best Noctua, it's still probably going to be noisy.

Hi! I have the same system. I7 and 3080. While the performance and look of the Omen was spectacular I was annoyed by the noise. Especially running Cyberpunk 2077 for some reason. What I ended up doing is to use the Intel XTU and basically “underclock” the system slightly. The processor now runs at 60-70 and while it’s not completely quiet, the noice is at an acceptable level. As performance in games are mostly dependent on the RTX 3080 the performance is basically the same. Could need some expert help on the settings and I might be able to get it completely quiet. If you do not love to rebuild, this is worth a try. I am a bit pissed on HP for delivering a unbalanced cooling system and feel sorry for the poor guys with 10850 or 10900 with no option but to rebuild the system in full.

Mine came with a 5800x and 3080, luckily all I had to do was lower the voltage on the 5800x to 1.2V and now I'm getting low 70s on both gpu and cpu when gaming which is decent imo.

I think if they moved the hard drive cages to the bottom of the case they could easily fit 2x120mm front intake fans and if they moved the top io panel more to the front then they would have room for a 240mm aio or 2x 120mm fans at the top of the case. That would actually be sufficient to keep temps reasonable.

I swapped out mobo, aio, and a new case for my 10850k rtx 3070 and it runs 35 degrees cooler and i get 10 more fps in gaming. I went with corsair 220t atx, msi z490 gaming pro mobo, and 240 icue aoi. Runs so much better than stock

Though I did check and saw an m.2 wifi installed on the bottom right motherboard and the cables were connected to the other side of the case. So I guess my question is are the antenna installed on the other side of the case or are there no antennas since I looked at some other motherboards online and see that some are preinstalled with wifi and includes an antenna and some motherboards that do not have wifi but you could buy an m.2 wifi to install and connect the antennas on the back of the pc. And at 2:42 what is that pc part that is connected with the rainbow looking cables?

@@HardwareSense cables are fine, GPU powers on, lights on, fans blowing. Taking GPU to a cousins house to see if maybe the GPU went bad? I highly doubt that. Maybe another issue was the mother board?

@@HardwareSense GPU works fine. Installed on cousins computer and runs correctly. Any other ideas what it could be?

@@xXKick1RockzXx Reseat the memory, make sure the storage is attached and the CPU is on correctly, other then that there is not much to go wrong
