happy to sacrifice speed for silence and low heat which is why I favor the Studio

How many Thunderbolts ports may be there or added? What about fan noise?

Thanka for the unboxing! Looking forward to the review. Really interesting mini pc. Looking firward to seeing the performance a2000. I think in 2 years, the rtx 5060 or 6070 will fit this pc.

Is the CPU socketed? Can you upgrade it?

Hey Man - been waiting for a proper video on the g9 mini and you didn’t disappoint! I have one on order 32gb i72000k 1 tb G9 and have the b300 mount - please do a follow up video showing how it’s performs for video editing (premier pro) and the big question we all have how is the fan noise Uber load - Trevor Republic of Ireland

Watch Linus Tech Tips... He shows this gets throttled and suffers heat issues.

the big downside of Intel mini PCs, especially these i9, is that they are loud, whereas the studio is basically silent even under load. And the fact that some are "not as loud as some gaming laptops" does not really change much... I am a Windows guy, but I care a lot about silence, and I have to admit that Apple Silicon Macs are unmatched from this point of view...

It really depends on what’s important to you. Personally, I hate that none of Apple’s current offerings allow any kind of expansion or upgrade. Except for the Mac Pro which has a six thousand dollar entry point. At first I thought this was because of the new M chips until I found out my very own 2019 Intel MBP has its memory and storage soldered in. So I’m actually considering this HP for my heavy duty needs now while I use Apple for other everyday things.

@@yega3k You mistook the laptop for the desktop. You have to accept that all laptop manufacturers will solder memory to the motherboard. You buy as much as you need. See the inside of the MBP - there is no room for memory modules there.

@@imho4990 Since when? That is not true at all. If that were to be the case, there'd be no market for laptop RAM. Plus, Apple didn't always solder everything in. I've used Macs since 2004.

@@yega3k Sure, everyone has different priorities. For me noise is one of the most important ones. My desk has to be totally silent. As for expansion I got the M1 mini with 16GB RAM to begin with and I am using external SSDs for expansion (including with a TB4 dock). It's working pretty well.

You can configure this on the HP website to not include a mouse and keyboard.

4:44 That was definitely the front. The pretty face always points to the front. Besides, it has the Z badge.

They need better cooling, apparently they easily get to the point of needing to be throttled quickly.

I have the Dell 3240 and looked at this as a potential upgrade... Until Lenovo announced the P360 Ultra yesterday. Beats this Z2 G9 on all fronts.

The P360 for some reason maxes out at 32GB of RAM

And this is probably not more powerful than the latest NUC 12 Extreme.
