Thanks Michael! My request fulfilled and more! Good to see how HS2 gets past Berkswell Station.

Thanks Michael once again, great drone footage of the Hs2 project in our area, it's certainly starting to take shape now.

Good to see the progress being made. Just like HS1, much of the construction sites will be gone upon completion with just the track remaining and you would never know they were ever there.

Thanks for this phenomenal footage of the route westwards from Burton Green. Great (accidental) catch of the train on the current WCML in the distance at 4:45 - and the crossing point clearly captured at 5:51 in your video. Berkswell station looks like a toy train station at 6:20, but I remember its rebuild some 20 years ago. This will be a great historical document when the wester blast portal is constructed in due course (around 10:50 I guess). Having stood on (and under) the Cromwell Lane bridge many times since 1978, the progress visible at 12:09 is nothing short of amazing.

I have commented on many different HS2 videos and have found the same issues with the construction in all the different areas of the route. The vast earth works that have gone on for what will be a double track mainline and all the areas around it is unbelievable, the cutting in this video at minute 2:50 is enough for a 4 track or more main line and definitely will not be narrowed once construction is complete. This construction through open country is no more than the victorians did in the 1840s through to the1880s and they did all the work by hand. I understand the complex work of building in modern city's but with modern equipment why is it taking so long in open country. The contractors seem very good at building little mounds of earth and water catchment ponds and have even tarmacked the car parks for their vehicles Minute 8:20, and another a minute 11:20 and another at 12:40 in the distance, how much did they cost and what's their purpose once the railway is built, but nowhere on the course of this route is there any evidence of finished track beds and god forbid even a Metre of track. HS2 project need to go over to France and Belgium and see how its done properly in a fraction of the time and cost its done in the UK. Just looking at the sheer width of destruction in this video Minute 7:24 is horrifying and that is from someone who's been a railway advocate all his life.

Thanks for filming this. Despite my thinking this is a great waste of money, I am intrigued to see the engineering involved in this project. Any chance that you could do some of the sections further to the south? In particular the Fosse Way to Southam section with the Long Itchington Wood tunnels would be interesting to me as I frequently walk in that area along the canal.

I only do the area close to home, as I know the terrain well and can survey the route via the Greenway before sending the drone up.

Hi Michael - big fan of your footage. Do you get permissions from HS2 to film and then post this up?

You can see where you can and can't film using the Drone Assist app, along with any user submitted routes. It's interesting to note that there is a flight scheduled tomorrow, August 31st, along my usual routes between the A46 and Balsall Common and then extending further towards Hampton in Arden. These are not my requests, so I'll be intrigued to see where the footage ends up. Weather isn't looking too promising tomorrow, unfortunately for them.
