Nick Rains shares his first impressions of this newly released technology from Adobe which cleverly doubles the pixel dimensions of images (to four times the file size). This ACR update was released on March 8 2021 and is designated ACR 13.2.
No doubt lots of people will be experimenting on files from new cameras so Nick chose an older camera to see what effect this new feature would have on a 12.7MP camera, in this case the Leica D-Lux (Type 109) from 2015. The results are genuinely excellent, particularly for lower resolution cameras from the past. This new Camera Raw feature might give your older images a totally new lease of life!

Update: Super Resolution does not work on Leica Monochrom images because there is no Bayer array on the sensor.
