I have had a few times that trying different loads, would dimple or crush the hull. depending on the machine being used, 366-650n-800 plus-Lee load all. Sometimes just couldn't get it right. I think the MEC's overall is the best bang for the buck. But for specialized shells the load-all is the most forgiving and easier to set up. There is a bunch of after market tooling for them to make them more universal. Anybody just starting out should not snub them as a good starting point. Glad your back at it and keep up the great work.

I would like to see the same wad once fired with the mylar wrap. I know mylars pretty tough stuff but steals more tough

Itl also buckle the shell if you forget to mover ir press ip to 3" lol, sometimes lol on the mec, the lees oddly enough dont care near as much, if im loading up a few buckshot loads i dont usually change to 3" and get by...85 percent of the time if not i pull it back open and massage the plastic repeat

I can only imagine it would. I am getting ready to start loading a 3” load. #2 steel and larger will be what my 3” shells will be loaded with. Right now I am using factory Remington Peters Blue #2 steel in 3”. It goes 1400fps but patterns well and carries plenty of energy out to 40+ yards. I don’t like to shoot 40 but sometimes there is that one shot and you feel froggy. Thanks for watching.

How many years has it been since you've seen Alliant Steel powder for sale? I haven't seen it in 3 years, so I switched to Longshot powder for my steel loads.

It has been quite a while since I have seen it on the shelves of any store or shop. I have had this bottle for quite a while. I bought a 4 lb can about 4 years ago. When this 1lb bottle ran out I just refilled it out of the big jug. I have about 8 lbs of Longshot and use it for some steel loads also. I will have to put one of those on an episode. Thanks for the idea.

#7 and #6 steel would work well for those. I don’t think I would load it with that high of a velocity. It probably go 1325-1400fps. That usually patterns better than the fast loads, especially with smaller steel shot. Check out my #7 Rio video. Hull of the Week Ep. 2. Thanks for watching.

@@dominionpredatorcontrol1091 At one time I had a gunsmith shop, and maybe soon will again. I am just stuck with insurance negotiations. The premiums are outrageous.
