Jason and Charlie take the new Husqvarna 120i battery powered chainsaw to the woods to clean up blow downs. Jason used the gas powered Stihl ms170 as a reference point for comparison. They cleaned up a beech tree, pin cherry and fir from the trails.
Hang around to the end of the video to see if we give this chainsaw a thumbs up or a thumbs down, we'll give you our honest opinion!

I was a Husqvarna dealer in the 80's. I still have my original saws. They run like the day I bought them. I now own seven Husqvarna products. I just bought a 592XP and just ordered a 120i. In 50 years they have never failed me, not once! I wouldn't own anything else. Thank you for posting this video. Shalom/gw

Not a saw for me but I would like a battery powered pole saw for clearing my trails. Keep up the good work. I enjoy every video but don’t always like or comment as I prefer to watch them in the big screen. I do enjoy watching you and your dad work together and that you get your wife and children involved. That is how my dad taught my brother and I. Again keep up the good work. Still watching from New York State.

Hi Paul, thanks for leaving us a comment! Hopefully the video quality is getting better for the big screen. We purchased a camera that shoots in 4K a couple of videos ago now just for that purpose! Take care, Jason.

Hey Jason, its crazy to think you guys were impacted by the wind storm just like us in Michigan. Nice job connecting the trail clean up with a battery chainsaw review, love the economy mode that the Husqvarna has. We are frequently using the Stihl MSA 220 Battery chainsaw for trail clean up! I read lots of bad reviews about these little husky saws. I bought a Poweraxe. Newer bigger (bar length) saw. I love it. Works amazing. No trouble. I’m sure this one is probably just as good now that I’ve had the other saw.

How's she goin'? Battery powered tools sure have improved and this saw looks like a workhorse for sure. Charlie was giving it a good go and it handled it all pretty well. Not for logging, but that's not what it's for. Thanks for the honest review and Merry Christmas!!!

I completely agree with what you guys said. I went with the Milwaukee just because I already had batteries and chargers. I love; no/little noise, instance on/off and no gas. They recommend a 12 amp hr battery but I have had good luck with my 5 amp batteries. My cordless poll saw is also a great rig to have in the woods.

@@OakMountainAcotts It's battery powered. I couldn't be happier with it. IMO, when used for the intended applications, these saws work great. In another video the reviewer doesn't have anything good to say about his battery powered saw. But I could write a book about what he does wrong in the video. Shalom/gw

Good review guys! I’ve tried a Milwaukee with about the same conclusion. Almost there, still needs some additional power as a pro use saw. But I don’t think that is far around the corner, and I suspect I’m probably on my last gas 60cc saw.

Hi Craig, I have been to the saw shop twice to buy the largest battery powered Husqvarna on the market. The first time they didn't have one in stock and the second time, I still couldn't justify the $1500 price tag.... I think they are awesome but even for an early adopter like me, there is a limit to what I'm willing to spend! Take care, Jason.

Ive had the same saw for about 2 1/2 years now. Is it a production saw? Absolutely not. But I can say that between my wife and I, its cut at least 9 cords of wood. She tops all the trees out with it, blocks up the stuff 5 inches and under. Plus when we put our new wood stove in, we found out our 10 cords of wood where all about 4" too long. We cut virtually all of it down with that little saw. The one thing that kills the battery more then anything else we find is when you dog it down. Just let it run full speed and let it cut. Dont force it. Also, if it's below Zero the battery dies pretty fast.

This is great feedback. Dad was pretty happy with it. He says the same thing… just let the saw do the work and don’t force it. Thanks for watching!

I think if you feathered the trigger the speed would adjust however, I find it best to run the chain at full speed to avoid "grabbing" the wood.

We are in Atlantic Canada. This property was "high graded" twice since the 1960's so the wood is not that great. We are trying to take out inferior trees for spacing and leave the best to restore the forest...

My neighbour had a tree service do a bunch of pruning, the entire crew had electric chain saws and they were pretty quiet. They work well in an urban environment. I would be concerned with battery life, they can cost almost as much as the saw.
