My devlog for the GMTK Game Jam 2022. The theme of this Jam was 'Roll of the Dice' so I decided to work in Unity with a team of 2 (with @whateep) to develop 'NOT A GOLF GAME', our indie game entry made in just 48 hours for the GMTK Jam!

With the Brackey's Game Jam and Wowie Game Jam a close second/third, The GMTK Game Jam every year is my absolute favourite for experimentation and trying new things in Unity, my Game Engine of choice! I might have let scope creep get the better of me, but for 48 hours I am really happy with how the small indie game worked out (although the gamejam version on itch.io is completely broken! Whoops...)

Also when the dice stopped moving, couldn't you have checked whether a face of the dice was touching the ground along with the velocity being 0?...

@@g_cabbige5 It's actually what it ended up being like iirc: when the die stops we find out what the bottom facing dace is and then subtract it from 7 to get the actual top facing value

Yep that's how we did it! Come to think of it though that definitely should have made it into the video 🤦‍♂️
