That's 150 mls per day.. which is less than I've been eating daily for decades.. along with between 4 and 8 local farm fresh eggs per day, for approximately the last 30 years with almost perfect consistency. I'm 50 years old and in almost perfect shape, my blood work comes back perfect according to my "doctor" who is an arrogant fool and a tool for big Pharma. I keep the idiot around for lab requisitions etc. This "family doctor" got his two young children vaxxed and keeps them right up to date on MRNA boosters. My good friend over heard him telling the other doctor at the clinic that any parent who doesn't get their kids triple boosted should be arrested and put in a camp, and have the kids taken from them by social services. Anyway, my point is that these these doctors and their advice for health is almost always advice that will destroy your health.. listen to your gut and don't be fooled.

Being brought up in Britain in the 1950s, I eat a lot of dairy, butter, cheese, cream. Now 72, my lipids are very good, same as yours. It always irritates me that doctors tell me I am lucky to have good genes. All men in my family died of heart disease. Bravo to working at it. Good food and no pharmaceuticals- wonderful. I agree with your philosophy & refuse to take statins ( they are overrated & discouraged by the best cardiologists). I also have been managing a-fib by avoiding triggers instead of the "black box" drug the heart doc wants me to try. But the one drug i do take is a blood thinner to avoid stroke. It is thinning my hair & I'm a 63 yo female. But not having a stroke is worth it. I take a handful of supplements though. May you live well past 100!!

At 107 years of age my grandmother passed on. She lived on a farm most of her life, had Jersey cows, and live stock. We ate butter, made ghee, cooked with lard, and ate what was available. Most of my relatives lived beyond 90. What we didn't have was refined sugar, refined flour, pastas, or refined carbs. Processed foods were a luxury and even in that time considered to be "not good for you".

In reality the human body produces from 54,000 nanograms to 630,000 nanograms of estrogen per day and a glass of milk contains just 2.2 nanograms. It should but it will bankrupt the food industry and ruin the idea to make us stop eating meat. The truth is plants and chemicals in food make a lot of profits. Imagine everyone eating fresh meat and animal products(diary, eggs, etc) plus some vegetables and fruit during season. Imagine people could eat 1 or 2 times a day only a steak in the summer with some salad. How is it compared to selling people kilos of cheap to produce vegetables, chips, waffles, seed oils, etc every day? On carbs every 4 hours blood sugar drops and makes you feel hungry no matter how much you have eaten. Also instead of 20 products in supermarkets now the industry sells thousands. Lets also add the other big business- pharma. People buy tons of supplements to get what they would get from animal products. So, yes, they should but they never will.

I went low carb just about 14 years ago. My husband had 3 strokes and we found out he was diabetic. I put him on the Adventist influence diet they gave me at the hospital. Every 3 weeks, he had bloodwork. Always worse, as was he. This went on for 8 months. It hit me that the so called healthy diet that had failed me for decades was failing him. I read Good Calories, Bad Calories and watched The Oiling of America. Switched us both to the old 1950s British diet in the prologue. His next bloodwork improved. Kept getting better. Several months later a stranger understood him. Still doing great. I started at barely fitting a size 18. Lost 10 pounds the first 2 weeks. I also craved butter. Lots of butter. And as I was losing weight I let myself eat all the butter I wanted. Over a pound a week easy. Now when I was 42 an exray showed degenerative bone disease in my right foot. I was told by 57 I would be in a wheelchair. Nothing they could for it. I started the low carb diet and the butter cravings at 52. Before that I was starving myself fat and sick on 1200 low fat, high fibre calories a day for decades. Every step for years had been painful and I had a job where I would get 70 thousand steps a day. Pain was normal in my life. About 4 months in my butter cravings finally slowed down. I was walking down the stairs and it suddenly hit me that my foot was not hurting. I found out years later that butter if full of things you need for healthy bones. I am now 65 and I can hop on that foot. Butter heals.

The root of all problems are not carbs (especially physiologically appropriate carbs like fruit, fruit juices, some roots, honey, maple syrup and even sucrose, i.e. glucose+fructose without antinutrients and too much fiber). The problem is decades of PUFAs consumption which are not only toxic, estrogenic, carcinogenic, degenerative..., but also pro-diabetic. They are released to blood stream from fat tissue (where they are stored due to consumption) and block glucose entering to cell, while also damaging cells.

Crazy are LC and keto people who choose to run on body's short term survival mechanism and long term cancer and degenerative metabolism. Wow! I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist and have been keto/ low carb for 2 years. My husband started keto/low carb 4 months ago after his A1c and fasting glucose entered the pre-diabetic range. After 4 months of eating this way, he returned to our doctor for bloodwork. His fasting blood sugar dropped 20 points to 81, A1c from 6.0 to 5.5, Triglycerides and liver enzymes to single digits and, even though his weight was never an issue, he dropped 20 pounds and 4 inches in his waist. On his Lipid studies, his HDL, total cholesterol and HDL all increased while his VLDL decreased. The nurse practitioner called to have him pick up a prescription for a statin. I told him that he would NOT be getting on a statin. We are both in our 70’s, no chronic illness, no medications. When he returns again in another 4 months, we’ll have a conversation with our doctor about WHY we made the decision to forego the statins. Your video was beautifully done and from my decades of laboratory experience I know you were spot on with your explanations. What I love the most is that you explained lipids in a way that anyone could understand. Thanks for a fantastic video.

Yes, I dropped my doc like a hot potatoe, when he told me if I don‘t start a heavy dose of statins right away I‘d die very soon 😆 All from 1 bloodtest, which showed elevated cholesterol, but my triglycerides were very low and I had been doing Clean Keto for over 3 yrs, dropped 80lbs, felt great, no more joint inflamation after just 2 weeks of starting Keto. I just wanted to see how I was doing and get some blood-panels, since I hadn‘t had any done in over 20 yrs. Well long story short, still going strong on Keto, didn‘t kick the bucket yet and don‘t even need a doctor - going on my 6th year eating Clean Keto. The only negative thing is, when I eat any carbs like rice or pasta or grains of any kind (on a „cheat“ day) which I‘ve only done a couple of times, I have a severe GI reaction, cramps, constipation. I suppose my body prefers Keto, so I‘ll just be happy I‘ve found my perfect way of staying healthy 🤓

You're losing weight because you eat one meal a day. Eating this much butter for only 100 days is not the same as much as most people eat. They do this all their lives and drop dead of some horrible disease with clogged arteries. I've seen people eat pizza once a day and still lose weight. My brother are lots of butter and oils for years. First, he had a stroke. The second time he had a heart attack. He is still fat and sick and takes 10 different medications. Eating this way is horrible for his health, but he can't see that. I am an integrative nutritionist. I was taught every diet is not for everyone. People are individuals and our bodies, organs, and arteries don't run the same. I ate butter and. olive oil for years. I was also fat and sick. I like my brother had a stroke and was on so many meds. I started whole food plant based with no oil or butter. I lost 53 lbs, my cholesterol went to normal and so is my blood levels. I take no meds at 62 yrs. I used to be on a walker at 56. It sits on my patio collecting dust. I'm still losing weight and very healthy. This way of eating may not work for everyone though. We all have to find our way of eating what's best for our individual needs. Good, you found yours.

I've experimented with the opposite. I dropped the fat nice and low and didn't give a monkeys how much sugar I ate. I didn't eat like I was trying to win a bet but didn't stop when still hungry to hit a target amount of calories. (I'm not sure about protein and also alcohol, whether it acts like a fat - eating lots but still hungry - or like a carbohydrate - full on less calories, I would be on the safe side and keep alcohol low or none) Logic was carb calories were filling and fat calories were not. I don't think I've ever been low carb though on a continuous basis, other than exercising away my carb stores and feeling a bit weak and jelly legged. Negative is have to drop fat REALLY low (under 10g a day) to lose any weight and it's slow. Positive is good mood and lots of energy. I have found that any food that is high in fat I have to stop eating when I'm still hungry or else I will gain weight. Sugar is more filling than I thought it would be. I feared I could eat endless quantities of it and rack up easy calories.

@D Macarthur how low is your fat intake? It's easy to accidentally go too high with even a packet or 2 of crisps. I've made this mistake and stayed the same weight. 20 or 10g fat a day is ideal but it is easy to exceed 50, 60, 70g of eating at a friend's house with unknown oil content. I haven't gained but lucky to shift a pound every couple of months. It is like the body only wants to pick and nibble at small quantities of body fat and eat 95 percent carbohydrate. I haven't tried keto though have heard of negative side effects and fat doesn't fill me up at sensible calorie numbers. I have heard that carbohydrate fasting has an appetite suppressant effect but at what price I'm not sure. Sugar can have a lot of calories but they are usually balanced by the extended duration before hunger strikes again. Fat has even more calories but hunger strikes quickly so I would have to consciously ignore it and keep track of calories. It's like feeding a cat a bowl of dreamies. They will eventually overcalorie due to the high fat content and turn into garfield if left to their own devices. If you can ration them out and at calorie neutral they will be mewing at you for more (note I am not familiar with the carnivorous physiology so am unsure how carbohydrate relates to cat satiation and function, their regular food tends to be self limiting and the cat simply loses interest in food before a calorie surplus occurs). Also perhaps some people convert sugar and starch to fat more than others, and whether certain hormones in dairy influence this even if the milk or yogurt is skimmed. Weight gain for me is the usual unrestricted fatty carbohydrate foods. If there is one thing bad about sugar or artificial sweetener is it opens up another range of high calorie foods, and now with pizza you are enjoying scones with clotted cream and jam; cakes and doughnuts and ice cream. I have found fat calories the easiest to remove and the body doesn't try to trick me into eating more and moving less, whereas if I cut out sugar, or starch I just hunger for bigger portions. Stuffing my stomach with celery doesn't satiate if I'm after glucose. Eating fat to me feels like that unsatisfying celery but somehow it is high in calories.

The range that is used in blood test results are not scientifically deduced. They are simply an average of a number of people's results which is why the range can change over time. I always have to mention my grandparents who ate LOADS (I mean loads...) of butter, eggs, bacon, meat at every meal, and drank wine. Grandma used LARD (real animal lard, not Crisco!!) for everything - cakes, pie crusts, frying fish and chicken. They ate TONS of cheese and olives and saved all their bacon grease and used that to fry their ham & eggs and make french toast. They NEVER cut the skin or fat off their meat or poultry and loved eating the crispy skin of chicken or turkey. Neither of them ever did any exercise other than the daily gardening, house cleaning, or occasional walk around the block to see the neighbors. They were both very healthy and independent and lived into their 100's (grandma 106). My great-grandfather ate the same way and died at 99 slipping on icy steps taking out his garbage after an ice storm. - who knows how long he would have lived if he didn't have the accident. I don't believe ANYTHING the mainstream medical establishment tells me - as a matter of fact, if they tell me it's bad for me, I run right out and add it to my intake. If they tell me something is healthy, I avoid it like the plague.

My son, also prone to this problem, also had the same results with olive oil. I always did the best on the Atkins diet, but no one in the medical field would advise it. Now, I'm older, wiser, and I know the key to my health is with mostly meat, fish, eggs, cheese, yogurt, kefir, and I limit my vegetables to the leafy greens and I use low carb berries as a desert, with full cream whipped on top. I have never felt better in my life. Thanks for all your videos. I learn on each one!

I read Dr. Atkin's book in the early 1970's. I read Dr. John Yudkin's book, "Sweet and Dangerous," around the same time. They set me on the right path. I never followed the high carbohydrate low fat diet that was promoted in the 1980's and beyond. I'm 67 and fairly healthy. I will be forever grateful for those 2 books I read long ago.

I have been eating keto/ketovore for 18 months, and high fat carnivore for the past month. My recent blood work showed: A1C 5.3; Triglycerides 55; HDL 110; VLDL 5; and AST and ALT 20. I believe that I am a “lean-mass hyper-responder”, as defined by Dave Feldman. I am lean and fit, eat zero processed foods, drink zero alcohol, never smoked, and do resistance training and sprint intervals 2x/week. I work an active job. But all my doctor focused on was my LDL (277). Personally, I think I am probably healthier and lower risk than 99% of her patients (and her, for that matter). She told me to eat low-fat/low cholesterol diet. I have no plans to do that, but I have added in garlic, a little bit of arugula/avocado/sauerkraut, and if my skin can tolerate them, I will keep them. But I believe that I am eating a proper human diet, even though my doctor doesn’t agree. I need to find a doctor who will look at ALL of my blood markers instead of being hyper focused on just LDL!!

I had the same problem. I cut down on carbs, began eating more fats. Felt great. I'm quite fit and always have been. But cutting the carbs finally made me feel better than I was. All my blood work markers improved, except my LDL. It went up. So she immediately prescribed statin drugs for me. I got scared and started taking them. Felt like I was hit by a truck. Couldn't get out of bed, my muscles ached everywhere, and I couldn't sleep. My mind felt like there was something very wrong. I stopped the statins and have never felt better. Doctors have no idea. All they know is what they were taught in med school, which is based on "science" from 70 years ago.

You will have to add things like sweet potatoes and fruits later, when ppl do extreeme diet they have an euphoric phase where the body return to balance from all the processed carbs and sugar they used to consume, but after a while that phase will come to an end when the body needs healthy carbs and natural sugars like honey and fruits, but of course it will be denied of such food duo to a dogma of being a healthy "carnivore" or strict keto, prevlant thing in this nutrtion community, its treated as religion and its not actually a religion.

She was still working daily and was still on TV at the age of 89 and she looked great for her age. I think her last TV show before she retired and moved to CA was right after her 89th birthday. She died at 92. The whole "butter is bad" is a load of crap.

Since going 100% carnivore 2 years ago I have added at least 1 stick of butter and usually 2 sticks a day to my diet and feel so excellent with all blood markers consistently excellent I went from about 400lbs to 215 and feel like I am 30 instead of my age now which is 57. This explanation just intuitively makes so much sense. I've struggled with high triglycerides, high LDL and borderline low HDL my whole life. My diet has always been high carbs and low saturated fats since the Dr's told me to reduce my fat intake. Result? Narrowing in my Left Anterior Descending coronary artery which had to be stented 6 years ago. That's despite being physically active and taking statins and other cholesterol lowering drugs most of my adult life. Recently I've increased my protein intake which has naturally reduced the amount of carbs I eat. After watching this video, I'm eager to try increasing my fat intake so I can reduce my carb intake even more to see what effect it has on my bloods. Thank you Dr. Ekberg for an eye opening video. You've just gained another subscriber.
