In the USA, if we bought lunch, it could be a cheeseburger, pizza, or something like that, with a fruit cup and then a milk of your choice or something like that. If my parents packed me lunch it would be a sandwich like pb&j, bologna and cheese, etc some carrots, some grapes or something like that, and then chips or cookies. Maybe juice box or something.

As a french, I’ve never made a sandwich this way, also ironically the french’s mustard is what we call American style mustard, you need Dijon mustard which is truly french. Also school lunch is generally bad in France, the quality is pretty poor, although, you do get to choose what you eat at the cantine. There’s usually several choices of entrees, cheeses and desserts and something different variations of the main dish ( sometimes you can choose what vegetables you want or if you want fish or meat etc)

Raphael, I'm from India and this is the kind of lunch most people(95%) would take to school. North india - main course :roti/paratha, potato green peas curry, pickle . Snack : maggi/potato chips(lays)/chocolate/biscuits South India : main course: rice, daal, egg curry/chicken curry. Snack : rice crackers/potato chips(lays)/chocolate/biscuits And coming to drinks we don't take any drinks... Just water... And Mayyyyyyybe sometimes buttermilk. People here might say paneer or chicken tikka or gulab jamun but those aren't an everyday thing here... Definitely not to schools . Maybe once a week. I've been living in France all my life and never seen such a sandwich. In schools we usually get : - A starter like salad, paté, a soup or some sort of quiche - A main course with usually a carb, a protein and vegetables - For desert always a dairy like yogurt or cheese + A sweet desert like fruit, a cake, some tart etc - The meal is usually accompanied by a tiny individual baguette (a baguette bun). And it's not really a thing to bring your own meal from home when you're a kid, either you would eat the school meal, or you would go home for lunch. (At least it's the case in Paris where I'm from, maybe it's different in small cities)

I went to school in UAE and almost everyone got there food from home, usually a cheese sandwich in traditional bread and a juice box of some sort, some kids also got veggies like cucumbers or baby carrots or even an apple, for snacks it’s usually a bag of chips or some biscuits/crackers. Most school canteens get freshly baked cheese or zaatar manakeesh from a bakery and that’s what you would buy if you did not pack your food, also juice boxes or flavored milk, bags of chips or popcorn.

@@greysonphoenix3442 nah. So banana ketchup is literally just ketchup made of bananas. It came with its onw history about a grandma who doesn't like the tartness of tomato ketchup (or something along that lines) and made sweet and a bit spicy ketchup using ripe bananas (since our country produces a lot of bananas) and a few chosen spices. It's the best dipping sauce for anything. Not banana pudding

usually it's the mother. It's really common in Japan that when you're getting married, the woman just left the job to be a full-time mom. And if you refuse some men (usually the most "traditional") would think it's because you dont love him or think he's not worth of the family (you think he cant provides enough money). So usually the mother make a lot of side dishes for her kids and husband in the morning. I get it explain by japanese people ^^'

I’m from 🇮🇳 India We have alottt of variety of food in the country Around 30 states and each has different cuisine But I can speak for myself, I’m from the state of Maharashtra This is what Most of the Maharashtrian kids would get for lunch at school! 1-2 chapati Portion of freshly cooked vegetables in gravy form or dry form with condiments Salad- there’s alot of variety but cucumbers and tomatoes topped with lemon and some spices is the most common A portion of seasonal fruit for dessert Rice and daal ( optional) Achaar or papad or namkeen (option) I never had rice in tiffin as it made me sleepy! This is the basic lunch box which I would get daily But 2 days a week my mom would give me something different than the regular! So it was like- Pasta, noodles, pav bhaaji, dosa, utthappa, paratha, sandwiches, fried rice and much more It’s definitely not practical for u rapha! But it is for some schools, particular ones mostly. Most of public schools have a healthier lunch, and it’s free, with rice and beans (Brazilian beans are the best in the world - sorry Mexico, yours are good but it is too spicy!), some meat and salad too. I think that would be considered a “snack” or “easy lunch”. A real Brazilian lunch served by the school would basically consist of rice, beans, beef/chicken/fish, salad, then juice and a dessert (normally a fruit). Another option would be pasta in a tomato sauce, sausages, tuna salad, juice, and dessert. At least I was served with that in school. In Brazil there is basically a funny rule given to schools that a plate of food should have at least 5 different colors. That basically brings a variety in a plate of food.

In a Canadian school lunch you can often find plant-based options like chickpea sandwiches, broccoli and grape salad, baked tofu, sushi, or cheese with crackers and cranberries and nuts.

I live in Poland and tbh we usually don’t do anything fancy for school lunches. Most people just bring a simple sandwich with butter and tomato/cucumber or ham and cheese. I try to eat something different every day so my lunch usually has some sort of yogurt in it (most of the time vegan or lactose free), simple salad (lettuce, cucumber, chicken breast, corn etc), something sweet (most of the time it’s a fruit but sometimes I will bring a chocolate bar or cookies), a bottle of water and an energy drink cus I tend to fall asleep in class

In Brazil most of particular schools have classes in the morning or in the afternoon, so the students don’t do lunch at school, at public school it’s the same, but they serve lunch in the middle of the morning or afternoon instead of snacks, what they serve it’s similar to Italy, they serve some salad or vegetables, rice, pasta or potatoes, beans and a protein, as desert they have fruits.

Actually, in Brasil is not very common to take lunches to school! Our classes normally go 7:30 am till 12/12:30 am, so most kids have lunch at home - and if we have classes both in the morning and afternoon, we normally go home and eat or grab something at a close by restaurante - or the one inside the school! Ofc it depends where u study lol but when i went to school, i would take a snack (a big one, but a snack lol).

Went to the Philippines for my arts degree, lunch was pretty much laissez faire. Now, I went to a top college (De La Salle - CSB) from 2014-2018, so the system is you buy a card or stub for around $20, which usually lasts a week depending on how much you eat. The options for food is so many, there are a variety of viands for filipino, asian, European, and American options you also have different options for deserts, sides, and breads. They also put the calories and macros per serving. Pretty cool. Not sure about other institutions though. If you're wondering about why the food is affordable, keep in mind that the standards of living here os really low. People get paid per day with a minimum wage of $10 per day; not hour. So consequently, consumable goods are priced very low too, unless you only buy imported options, then on that case that would be the same price from ots country of origins + importation tax.

In Malaysia, where i born, our cafeteria just full of stall 😭😂 like drink stall, heavy food stall, dessert stall, and in my school, they even have separated mashed potato and gravy stall and vending machines. Its like food court 😂 but everyday is just same food and i remember i eat sambal filled egg bread for the whole 5 years because others are just too bad in taste 😭 The food and drinks they commonly served in Malaysia are cold beverage like rose drink, orange juice, juice box. They didnt serve hot or warm drink because it's just summer in here. Usually food contains Nasi Lemak, Mee goreng (fried noodle), kuey teow goreng (fried kuey teow), bihun goreng (fried thin noodle), nasi ayam (chicken rice with soup n tomato sambal). While dessert are, curry puff, sardine puff, egg bread, sausage egg bread, chicken nugget, fried chicken, sambal bread, sausage, mini roti john (a long bread filled with baked meat and sauce). These are commonly in Malaysia. N we have to pay any food we wanted to eat.

As a Brazilian, I have never eaten an omelette in school and have never seen anyone having it lol, but I could say a typical Brazilian would have the in filling of that omelette in a French bread. We love sandwiches made of French bread.
