I bought a Chopped Tour Pack for my Harley-Davidson Street Glide from Amazon to go on my Cross Country Road Trip, this is what I think about it 5,000 miles later.

Very cool. I purchased the king off eBay. When Harley gave me the quote for their king tour pack and docking hardware, I was stunned. Thought maybe I accidentally asked for 3 of them.

You can buy a lock for the tour pak that is the same key as the bike. Also, open the tour pak lid when you install the seat screw.

If you ride with your wife/daughter on the bike I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you get the metal plate. I have a buddy of mine that had a similar tourpak on his bike. He was riding with his wife, she was leaning back on the pack and the plastic broke. Thank god they were coming to a stop when it gave way. If they were on the highway the results could have been deadly.

Great video... I also got an aftermarket tour pack for my 14 SG but did invest in the latch locks made by H-D for the bracket underneath that connects the tour pack to the docking station. I went to a bike show last year and when I returned to my bike I noticed that someone had tried to steal my tour pack off my bike but was stopped because of the wire from the light that goes under the seat like urs or I just came back to fast for them. Either way I’m glad I did. So just check them out if you like and while ur there get a new lock set that matches ur original key. The less keys to scratch ur paint the better... ✌🏾

Tall, give CD a call and they should be able to provide an extension to your tour pack so you don't have to remove the seat. At worst case, go to electronics store and extend their cable. It looks great and keep doing your thing.

I bought a razor from amazon 3 years ago and it still works and looks great. It came pre-painted in Black and it matched my 15 RGS very nicely. It has about 30K miles on it, my bike has 72K. There are many different brands so choose wisely. TCMT and XFMT are the brands I have used. I also have an HD OEM King Tour that I only use for long trips (More than 10 Days) and two-up riding. I reco Amazon if you are on a budget or just hate paying HD prices.

That’s a good deal, I have a King Tour pack that I purchased on eBay for $200 in 2007 that I used on my 2007 Street Glide, I repurposed it for my 2019 Road Glide special still works great all things considered just had to recover the back rest pad that was attacked by some mice. I don’t use mine unless I am traveling or going shopping like the bike better with out it. Worth there weight on a long trip..

I got my chopped tour pack from Amazon... the whole kit, back rest pad, mounting hardware, and the liner for less than 400 bucks. I love it.. HD wanted 1200 or more.

Great video, sometimes its easier to and cheaper to get a ultra, and take the tour pack off,with the ultra you get the big pack and you get speakers,harley dealers love when buyers purchase a bike and add parts one at I time,at the end of the day all that matters is what you like, be safe bro👍

I added one to my el cheapo FLHT (compared to yours...lol) from Amazon for $210. It works great and I mounted it with a (free from a buddy) King Tour pack chrome frame and metal plate cause I gotta have a place for my hat! Interestingly I can remove it easily with 4 bolts just by opening the saddlebag lids but I leave mine in place. I like that added light on yours. I see a company now selling those for the new Indian Challenger as well.

The chopped tour pak looks best to me. I had one on my last bike. I now have the king on my SGS. It does not look as good but holds more so I bit the bullet and went big.

I went with the more expensive, however better quality, MoCo version. The Amazon and eBay tour packs I’ve seen are much flimsier plastic than mine. The tether on my MoCo King Tour Pack is strong. I have an organizer in the lid full of stuff and it holds it well. You do get what you pay for IMHO. I’m glad it’s working for you though!

A bit late to the party, but the TP looks good on your ride. I have the same on my King. As far as your comment on the straps flapping in the wind and marking up your TP, I use those velcro cinch straps.

I have the same Tour Pak from amazon, I have it mounted on my 2018 Road Glide,I have not had any issues.I did use a mounting plate wish I was able to buy from Home Depot for $5 dollors.

TT, got the same tour pack, I luv it too, I added the tour pack light as well. I'm presently having the Commander 3's touring tires installed, they say I can get (25k) out of these, they premiered April 1st plus I was given $150 rebate as well, these are a tad bit costly but if 25k is what they're claiming, I'm down. Having them installed as we speak, I'll let you know how they hold up. Honestly looking at that "124" on your bike is kinda angering me at this time lol. Ride safe my brother & keep up the great work, maybe one of these days we'll meet.

On the key for the tour pack, you can have it keyed to your Harley key. I'm in Az.and the locksmith was able to do it for me. It's not as quality as the Harley lock.. but it works. Check it out in your area. Gary

I was thinking about doing that one for my bike, but the seat pad was too small for my kids. I went with the king from HD and no problems so far. I only use it when I'm out with the kids. Don't know if I need to add lights to it yet as I only have it on a handful of times a year. Cheers Tall.

I got mine from Amazon as well paid $197 , I had sheets of metal here so cut and made my own plate , But like you I don't keep it own , have to redo docking , because I installed a 5 inch stretched fender , that want let bracket clear......

Looks good Tall but as I have always done; I alway buy American made accessories (which does limit choice) for the bike. I buy American made leather including recently a made to order pair of JRC gloves, etc. I get saving money but it's a pride issue for me. I want my bike, which already has plenty of parts sourced from countries outside the USA, to be as American as possible. And the biggest benefit of all to buying US made products is that it keeps our brothers and sisters in the manufacturing sector employed. My two cents Tall.

Harley has a retractable tether you can get I put one in my tourpak and it’s much better than the cable and also from what I ha e looked at it looks like you can get a key for a Harley tour pack with your key code and out it in that tourpak the bolts and everything look exactly the same as Harley’s worth a shot I haven’t gotten mine yet it it should work

You can run a thin cable from top of case to bottom to protect it from getting grabbed by the wind. is the top strong enough to hold a rack? That would finish it off! Very nice bike.

You can go to your dealer with your key and order a new style tour pack lock and only have the 1 key thats what I did it was like $40.00 and comes with 2 keys

I really like mine! I just don't like how to hang off the back of the bike, I'm a solo Rider I adjusted mine forward with a little bit of help from adapter kit and a little bit of welding I think it looks much better even with my saddlebags

You should add the metal plate. It makes it more ridged and less likely to crack in the future.

I have the exact same one, except I added the brake/turn signal light from a king tour pack with the dual antennas, I've been very happy with the quality and comparing it to a friends HD brand tour pack you can barely tell any difference. About the tether, replace it asap, mine broke almost immediately and I was fortunately able to catch it before it flipped over and hit my left saddlebag.

I bought the stiletto red, it was a stupid move for me on two parts, one, the vivid black is a basic color and can get it cheaply, and I plan on completely repainting to a custom job later which means removing the paint I paid extra for.

I was looking at one of these .. I got conflicting info on it.. Did u need to drill the holes in the tourpak the bracket? *I just heard u say there was no hardware so a trip to the hardware store would be in order .. But for $250.. I can drill some holes and buy 4 bolts nuts and washers
