Personally i don't like diamond cut wheels, i'd have them sprayed over. But those wheels on that GTD are meant to be silver. They look rancid in black.
@vashtiflack3769
@vashtiflack3769 4 жыл бұрын
Like Calvin said. People that cheap out and refurb their wheels on a budget have to go black due to the cost of a proper diamond cut . Spend a few pound more and refurb them properly. It’s a good buying point as well. If previous owners are cheaping out on their wheel refurb then what else are they cheaping out on? I own a Mk7 Gtd and it’s a great compromise between power and economy.

Think what you was trying to say, Calvin, is diesels have what they call a `power band`, starting when the turbo kicks in, then quickly running out of steam as you get past the power band.

These CR-engines on these from 09 upward are far smoother/economical/tunable and sound more like a petrol being a "Common Rail" system engine....The older PD-engines sound like taxis.."Gadaggadaggadagga"..but are still known as bullet-proof/go-on-forever type engines....I'd love one of those MK6 GTD's..especially with a good base-model-170 bhp to play with. Remember people started getting good power from diesels in mid to late 90's. I had a 306 diesel when I was young. With a few hundred quid chucked at it for a t2 turbo a bit of fucking about with the fuel pump and a decent fmic I could leave my mates EG6 round the B roads. Diesel came on leaps and bounds with the introduction of direct injection and some run ridiculous figures now for not alot of money.

Mine was very similar to this, full leather, heated, xenon's, traction control, heated mirrors, run out model. However ... Had it two weeks and the turbo went 🤦‍♂️ it had 117000 miles, needed, turbo, Ariel, new Tyres, service, bulbs, mirrors, disks, pads, rear hub, coolent hose... Had enough of it, owned it for about 10 months then sold. Put me off Volkswagens tbh, also diesels are just boring ain't they? I bet you money that this car has clocked mileage. Whether with a KM freezer or clocks changed.

You dont need to change clocks, I could alter the miles on a mk6 in 30 seconds.

@@LEWISJAXON1 Yeah but you can't alter MOT records unless you're going to clock it every year

This car will have launch control, but not much point in the wet. Also, if you took 60mph by the speedo you probably only got to 55mph at best.

Mate you have to source some better music, please ! Enjoy the vlogs but FFS son its a Golf TDI, not a shot of the sunset at Cafe Del Mar circa 95. Image appropriate music. Now of course you could be someone who views a diesel golf with same reverence as a balearic sunset then fair play. Otherwise thanks for sort of opening my eyes to the noughties hot hatch world.

I had a issue with my DPF turned out to be a sensor. Regarding the turbo, regular servicing will keep these engines/turbos going for 200k+ miles like mine. Til this day it's giving mk6 GTI's a hard time.

How does painting your wheels black save money ? I dont get it thanks

Refurbing diamoncut wheels costs a hell of a lot more than just painting them a block colour like black because diamoncut is two colours and not one.. basically 💁‍♂️

Alex Baker it’s actually because it’s like refurbing them twice Refinish the rims, paint them, then diamond cut the spokes, then lacquer it all Worth knowing you can’t usually refurb diamond cut wheels more than a couple of times as it takes off a lot of material depending on the wheel type obviously
@Ben-dr7kj
@Ben-dr7kj 4 жыл бұрын
You can only refurb diamond cut alloys twice or something aswell
