my dad was a dealer from the late 70s til about 2000 and when i was a kid in the 80s when he got a car to sell me and my brother would always try to get him to let us pull out the backseat to look for change

My parents kept track of each fill-up. They recorded mileage, miles per tank, number of gallons, and cost. Also they recorded any repair. I have to admit that I continued this habit in each of my cars since I was 16 years old. Now I'm 56 and still do it. But the notebooks give me a quick overview of the last oil change, new battery , tires, etc. So it's not all bad......

I love the visor and sunglasses. You look like you could be a cartoon character. I'm sure your daughter will like the look. This could be the inspiration for a video game, like frogger. The object would be for you and Papa Bear to get across the road without getting hit by old ladies driving only Grand Marquis'.

My first few cars I did that, kept accurate records of gas, oil, any kind of service/item added to the car. Now I only track the fluid/tire/battery changes.

I got a 1997 MGM LS also. Aero-style's are so underrated for some reason. I mainly see 1998-2011 models.

My grandmothers last car was a 2007 Grand Marquis LS with heated seats and the fake wood steering wheel. Loved that car! Digging the sunglasses too…

Hey Anthony & Papa Bear, these three Mercury's are a real find, especially the 97 Park Lane!!! I like the green leather interior, you don't see green or blue or red interior colors anymore!! My first car, a 69 Cougar XR7 with dark green leather interior!!! Thanks for sharing these beauties!!! 👍👍🙂

Wow! I have never heard of a Grand Marquis Park Lane model until now. And the color! Even a green interior to match. I doubt we’ll ever see full color interiors such as that in todays cars. Very unique!

Anthony- dress up the Marquis- nice set of thin striped white wall tires - add some chrome accents to wheel arches and quarter panels to make the white exterior pop.

man those are some nice cars but the 97 Park Lane is the icing on the cake! Always did like the look of the green interiors ever since my cousin had a Thunderbird she custom ordered in 94 or 95 and it had the green interior, I can remember it well because I got sick and threw up in the backseat and she was pissed lol....I really wish car makers would go back to offering interior colors in different colors other than black or tan! Great video and strangely those glasses and visor really suits you...

25:00 Fun Fact: that seatbelt is meant to always stay buckled in place. Like then when you open the door you do not have to unbuckle it and can just slide out of it while still buckled in place. I thought that those were just on Chevrolet Luminas. Cool to see it on a stationwagon.

My late grandfather tracked his fill ups in a little notebook too. Date, odometer, and miles traveled. When he stopped driving, and gave me his car (a 96 Civic), I continued his log. To this day, I’ve added to his log, taking it with me to each car I’ve owned. I’ve almost stopped using the gas log twice because I ordered and subsequently cancelled an EV (Tesla because of the shoddy build quality, Toyota bZ4X because the wheels were falling off). Maybe it’s a sign that the gas log needs to continue…

The Buick Century is that sweet spot. See that correlation it has to the full sized cars? Yet it is nice and compact. If you live in the city and are worried about space then that car is just perfect! As well as other similar mini boats like the older Ford Taurus sedans or Chevrolet Impalas (Though those two were bigger than Century, a downside if in the city).

I love the prior Grand Marquis model from the late 1980s, and especially the two door coupes. Those are rare.

Saw your comment. I am also a fan of the older Panther platform cars as I have two Crown Victoria wagons a 1987 and a 1991 LX both in great shape and purchased a year ago a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis 50th anniversary edition sedan with only 67,000.0 original mileage in showroom condition. According to a plaque on the dash there were only 250 made with this trim package. All exterior trim was done in gold anodized with a full carriage roof in dark blue canvas over dark blue metallic paint.

I have now watched a few of your videos, Anthony and have come to truly enjoy them! You, Sir, are a "Young Old Soul! A young man who appreciates the quality, comfort, style and luxury, of these cars of another era. I believe you are a TRUE "Car Guy"! After watching one of your Town Car videos, I was fortunate to fine a 54700, garage kept, 2003 Town Car Cartier. The add had just come out and after talking to the seller, I ran a Carfax and bought a plane ticket, to go pick it up, for my wife! Our previous Lincoln's, back in the 1980's / 90's, a 1965 Continental Sedan and a 1988 Mark VII LSC. SUSCREBED! Thank you, Michael Anthony Celi.

Same here. Mine is a 2010 ultimate edition LS. I named it the Cottonball because it's white and has a soft fluffy ride. I'm up to 67,000 miles now. Runs like a top.

I've always liked those '92-'97 Grand Marquis. There's something about them. That was the only generation where I think it was better looking than the Crown Vic at that time.

It’s not an official Park Lane, that was just a dealer installed package that gets you a cloth top pretty much. The Park Lane name was never used by Ford after 1968.

I believe shortage of GRAND MARQUIS may be due to many original owners are hanging on to them, since they are last traditional American full size luxury cars. Many bought these as a more affordable alternative to Lincoln Town Cars. Have had two GRAND MARQUIS and enjoyed them. Last one was traded for current 2007 low mileage Signature Limited. Will not let this one get away. Friend recently scored estate GRAND MARQUIS. A real beauty. That green color must be rare. Don't recall ever seeing that color. Actually GRAND MARQUIS was a more affordable Town Car. 🏆
