What I mean is that if you can do something on your own do it, being up and out of bed as much as possible is probably the best thing that helped me during my time. It's a nice little simulator, but obviously it's written by people with a strong capitalist bias, which means progress only happens when you play it like a capitalist. He made plenty of capitalistic choices: no regulation on maximum work hours, privatise all public transport, no support for homeless, no support for art & litterature, no regulation on firearms, no labor laws, poor equality laws, unregulated private securty laws (private armies), unregulated gambling, no family allowance, no public healthcare at all, no regulation on drugs, no regulation on genomics or cloning, privatised jails with penal labour.

I just wonder what those 500 or so people who staid the whole time thought as all these fancy new people moved into their town. We’re they happy for the new faces and industry? Were they bitter because the outsiders didn’t understand the hardships they had faced? Were they saddened with pity as these naive newcomers knew nothing of what they were getting themselves into? We may never know.

"Animals have the same rights as people" doesn't mean "people are treated like animals", it means "animals are treated like people". Which in this case is perhaps not ideal.
