While on the stand Friday, Maya Kowalski, the girl at the center of Netlfix’s “Take Care of Maya” documentary, said she wished she never told her mother, Beata Kowalski, about the events that happened at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She later blamed herself for her mother's death. "I feel like it's my fault," Maya explained.

I can’t imagine the pain she’s feeling. She’s definitely feeling survivor’s guilt which is a condition where a survivor takes the blame for surviving a traumatic event when someone else didn’t. I hope she’s got a good support system because she needs it. I hope she’s able to overcome this and have a great rest of her life.

This tragedy wasn’t an accident, it didn’t have to happen. But for the neglect, lying, false imprisonment of Maya and the malicious intent of several hospital employees this would t have happened. Those responsible should be in JAIL!

She has more emotional maturity and self awareness in her little finger than i could ever even fathom having. The outcome does not balance out whats done but i sincerely hope this provides her with some small shred of relief so that she may be able to live a life as the very clearly intelligent, resilient and jubilsnt person she has become. She never gave up and they didn’t ether 👏🏾 Cathrine, Sally and the workers at that hospital need to be in jail!! There’s no reason Cathrine and sally should be walking freely in this world when they forced her mom to take her life and took maya away from her family, but I’m so glad they got there justice from that horrible hospital and system!👏🏾👏🏾 hopefully all the other families they messed up get recognized and get their justice too!

Bless their hearts. What a heartbreaking, gut wrenching, unimaginable situation this family endured. I'm glad the jury believed them and held the hospital and staff and all of the contributing parties to the suffering Maya and her family still live with and will continue for years to come. Finally justice has been served. God bless Maya and her family and their future endeavors.

I feel so bad for her. I too have crps. The disease is INSIDIOUS! So to that extent, Beata fought to get help for Maya. And let me make myself clear. A ketamine coma is a last ditch resort to ease symptoms. And let me add that it’s literally impossible for anybody to fake the symptoms of this disease. And because the disease wasn’t understood, Beati was accused of Munchhausen by proxy. Which, of course was not the case. Enter Sally Smith.

why am I just hearing about this case now? We're so distracted by what's happening in other countries that we have nothing to do with, yet this crap in our "health care" system is happening right under our nose. I highly doubt that The Kowalski Family are the only victims. We need to stop worrying about what is happening in Israel and Ukraine and start investing more of our focus into investigating this stuff!

..... The hospital charged the family for three months of treatment for her REAL disease, but still claimed the mom was making it up and blocked her from seeing her. Mind you she had that diagnosis PRIOR to and AFTER this whole hospital fiasco. So yes. It's real.

Beata was a mother who just wanted to hug her child badly. She had medical knowledge and that was the reason she was arguing because diagnosis is hard sometimes by the doctors. Beata knows how her child would feel better and thats what she was fighting for. Doctors ego got hurt and Beata is no more alive. Cruel reality of world

My mother is mentally ill, I’ve been a sick kid my whole life in and out of hospital. My mum beat me bloody. No cps saved me or investigated. Maybe it’s because we were poor and couldn’t be milked for insurance

They received a 2.5 million dollar settlement from one doctor who has now retired and never lost their license. IF i was them, I would want every brick of that hospital and the other health professionals licenses revoked. But that's just me.

The hospital is the one that starts the process with the courts. The courts don’t go searching hospitals looking for children to take. The hospital, the doctors, the nurses are the ones who got the courts involved. This isn’t the first time either. This hospital is notorious for medical kidnapping.

The courts might make the order, but they did not give the hospital carte blanche to treat her like garbage. There are so many things they could have done to make things easier on her and her parents. But JHACH hated Beata, and were antagonistic towards the family from the beginning out of this hatred.
