A chilling 911 call was played in court Friday while Jack Kowalski’s brother was testifying. Maya Kowalski’s brother, Kyle Kowalski, called first responders after finding his mother dead in their garage at their home in January 2017. Robert Rynes said he immediately dropped everything and went to the Kowalski’s home to support the family and remove Kyle from the situation.

Yes my great grandson found his Dad ( my grandson) dead. He was 11, and will carry that image for the rest of his life. We won’t get any money for therapy from those who caused his death. I think Beata being a woman also played a major role in treatment she received throughout this case. I kept noticing the word "demanding" be thrown out there, how dare a woman/mother "demand" the best treatment for her child. How dare a woman challenge and try to "control" her daughter's treatments, as if she had no clue about her own child. She was a registered nurse ffs! They would have NEVER treated a male doctor or nurse like that if they were showing the same concerns about their child! Why did it have to take the mother dying for them to finally listen???!

It’s discussed in testimony that it may not be that simple. The nurses and social workers increasingly made her feel like she was a “crazy” abuser and the obstacle preventing Maya from returning home. The fact that her treating physician even called and verified that her treatment was correct and her mother was following that treatment and they still went after her is INSANE. The reasoning is clear, they didn’t like her being “demanding”. These are our children and we are paying the hospital bills. I’m not saying do only whatever parents want and say. I’m saying listen and proceed with the info given. They should have listened to her and even if doubt clarified with her physician and dropped it there. My god.

@lilpiggi in their documentary, they share about being afraid, the trauma of relieving everything again. And even speaking of my own experience, people are afraid, it's intimidating. With or without counsel. I hope they find all their bravery throughout their case, I hope others dealing with similar situations do too.

The doctors involved in this case told each other that 'we did the right thing' to reassure themselves, how disgusting! The inhumane judge who refused the mother to give her daughter a hug, oh boy, my blood boiled through the roof! How inhumane. How they sleep at night and continuing to work is beyond disgusting, evil and vile. I pray they get justice and win this case. Watching their story on Netflix made me very angry and sad, beyond angry 💢 i have not cried so much watching a show, this one will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I watched the documentary & was not expecting the part where mum took her own life, she was hounded & made to feel like she was making the whole thing up! So called professionals should stop & think about the damage their words & actions cause, I felt devastated for them. My own child became seriously ill when she was 15, no doctor would listen to me & up til she was 19 years of age she was diagnosed every year with yet another illness yet no one was getting to the route cause! At 19 my daughter had her first of many strokes, it took nearly 3 months of incorrect diagnoses to discover she had a rare disease that attacks the gut, brain, ears & eyes. Susac Syndrome has taken my daughter’s life even though she’s still alive. She lives with the mistakes made by so called professionals, she has been registered legally blind & she only has partial hearing left! She is cognitively damaged for life, she suffers spasticity in her limbs amongst multiple other lifelong disabilities. Had they listened to me when she was 15 we could have stopped this disease in its tracks but no the professionals think they know best! And just like Maya my daughter was failed too!!

The hospital is in a damned if you do, damned if you don't. They have to make judgement calls, as mandated reporters. If they suspect something, it doesn't mean their "suspicions" are right, but they are still required by law to report their suspicions. If they don't, and the mother IS responsible, the hospital is still at fault.

I became a mom recently. When my daughter was 2 months old, I had to hospitalised for observation due to a heart episode for 1 day. And the whole time I was in the hospital, I was scrolling through all photos and videos of my daughter, watching her through the baby monitor because I missed her so much. I can’t imagine being separated from my daughter for 3 months! It would have killed me 😢 My heart goes out to this family, I hope they find justice
