In this weeks video I found an abandoned mansion completely by chance and decided to take a look around… it was one of the loveliest places I have ever found and had some incredible features inside! Loved this explore! As an Army Brat I think this really may have been a guest house with the style of the kitchen and and all those showers,sinks and toilets. Then the circus painting made me wonder if maybe it was where circus performers lived at when they were not traveling. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Not a hotel. Either a school, or a borstal. The locks on the doors indicate more likely to be a borstal. Lived in France 10 years and done some renovations,

I love watching your car explores but these buildings are my favourite explores. I can remember watching one of your first videos for me which was an abandoned school. I really agree that places like this shouldn't exist in this state. But then we wouldn't get these interesting videos from you. Thanks for sharing this amazing place.

I would give my eye teeth to restore something like this. When I am struggling to leave London I feel so strange that places like this are just left to rot. I know it’s difficult but it shouldn’t happen. Great video . Very much thank you.

What a phenomenal place!! That industrial kitchen, All those showers, sinks in most rooms. Fire alarms and signs on the walls make me think of a place where people stayed. Maybe youth hostel type place as location grand but rooms not exactly and no grand design or interior architecture that would speak of a hotel or B&B worthy of the exterior. Gorgeous place ❤❤❤

Hi Colin, love your explores, but please look up more with your camera when looking around a property, nearly everything you film is looking down, so frustrating, if I was exploring a property, I would be looking all around, up and down, not just at the floor, please accept this as constructive criticism for an otherwise excellent youtube channel.

Hi Colin another excellent explore,that mansion must have been amazing when in its glory! It must have been a hotel with all those showers if all turned on at same time must have drained local water supply lol!! I agree with you Colin those fire places are absolutely amazing,.worth a fortune I would have thought.Some of the way the rooms were set out was weird but this made your video even more interesting to watch. This mansion is awesome, I love French architecture they seem to know how to make places like this, you can't beat the ceilings and fireplaces in this mansion tho, Must say it's quite odd with all the showers even if it was a hotel 🤷🏻‍♀️, but can quite imagine it would have been beautiful back in the day. You should go to the otterburn hall county Durham it's been closed since COVID it was a hotel. Also sharrow bay hotel just outside pooley bridge and glennridding Cumbria lake district has been closed since COVID and is due to go on the market soon.

Have to say this place doesn't look that bad. Could be fully restored to old glory. That water damage was propably form upstrais shower or toilet. And roof looked like basic steel roofing. Oh I wish I had money to buy this one and fix it.

Don’t know if you realise that the French have a crippling inheritance tax and large old properties like this the family have to pay nearly as much as the property is worth as if the property was new in tax and then quite often the property needs as much again spent on it to make them habitable, so it isn’t worth it so they just leave them like this one then there’s no tax to pay as even to sell it they still need to pay the tax so again no worth the hassle.
