@@idalismedina8486 ignoring never really works since your feelings slowly fade, and if they end up getting a partner you’ll end up hurt and regretful, i mean sometimes it does work if you’re willing to wait for that other person (months, years) but otherwise no

My gf of almost 3 years up and left me on New Year’s Day we got in to a argument it wasn’t too bad of one about normal when we argue and she left didn’t say even why I was in the bedroom just staying away after it and then boom like 30mins later she leaves takes her cat and snakes and didn’t even say why then blocked me on everything 😢idk if it’s over over I hope not cause I do love her and now I’m in the apartment all alone with my cat. I’m confused tho cause she left her car and she worked today so like did she just quit everything yk?

I think it’s because she’s hyper verbal and she’s learning things/questioning things that her demographic has either figured out already and or trust that their own experience will provide them with answers. I’m old enough to know what life was like before the internet, all the advice I’ve seen on the internet works solely for the people who are doling it. We are individuals with specific needs and desires outside of “Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.” Society has outsourced those needs to institutions and most people in first world countries are operating in the Self actualization stages So all the great advice I was given was nothing compared to experiencing failure, rewinding the tape, interrogating my own emotions and desires. Intimate failure at friendship, at work, at love, at family is better than any advice I was given.

I don’t even think jealousy in relationships is societal conditioning but rather we go into relationships knowing it’s fragility. Anything can set a person off to the point of ending it which is more rare in friendships so when a friend has other friends you’re less threatened of that person leaving than a significant other having another interest cause the quality of that love is different (someone can be a good friend to so many people but tend to half ass multiple relationships ) and also it’s so much easier to find multiple friends then multiple romantic interests of the same quality. I almost think jealousy is the “trauma” (even if it’s not that bad) or anxiety of knowing how shallow a romantic relationship can really be.I think people underestimate how much human behaviour and human reaction will shape our societal rules

Monogamy just makes sense because when you have a partner your intimacy is much more than with your friends, it’s special and deeper. And it’s because it’s so special that you don’t want your partner to have that with someone else. It’s perfectly normal to want that to stay just between you two it’s what makes relationships special and unique, to not share the same intimacy with someone else besides your partner. Ofc I think some people are ok with it but I think you’re simply not built that way

i’m rly glad that madeline talked abt bestfriendships and how different they are to romantic relationships when it comes to jealousy and attachment. i rly want a romantic relationship, i love the concept of love and i want that for myself, but i’m also happy just having my closest best friend by my side. it may just be our specific friendship (we act like we’re romantically together half the time minus kissing) but she’s genuinely better for me than any relationship could be. she listens to me, she understands me, she validates my emotions and even when she pisses me off by teasing me and i can’t tease them back, i still love her. just to clarify, i’m not in love with her, at least not romantically. they are one of the only people in my life who i can breakdown, completely shatter mentally and emotionally, in front of and not feel awkward or embarrassed or as though i’m being stupid or dramatic. and the most annoying thing about all of it is that i can’t be attached to her the way i could if we were in a romantic relationship. i can’t be jealous of her other best friends, the same way she can’t get jealous of mine, because i love and respect her enough not to be completely possessive and ruin their happiness. even without that love and respect, society expects us cheer on our friends when they have other successful, healthy relationships (which is completely fair and good obviously) as well as romantic relationships. if we feel jealous of these relationships, we automatically have to feel guilty, which i most definitely do. i don’t know if i could handle my best friend getting into a solid romantic relationship where the partner could potentially be favoured over me in many or all situations. naturally i would and will handle it, i will be their #1 cheerleader because i want her to be happy, but i know i’ll feel jealous. i wouldn’t be surprised if she would be the same as me if/when i get into a romantic relationship. in a best friendship, there is no such thing as cheating, u aren’t dating or sleeping together or married, but we shouldn’t feel guilty abt our jealousy as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. tbh i don’t know if any of this makes sense but i wanted to say it so 👍

*small note a lot of people do have experience of being jealous their friends have other better or closer friends. I remember being especially sad when my friends would "replace" me with someone else. its kind of like the same annoyance you get when your friends gets in a relationship and suddenly they dont have time for you. anymore. The level of stability in friendships is also volatile unless the basis of communication and trust already strong. Id assume thats what makes healthy relationships too

My opinion on monogamy has a lot to do with energy. When you decide to go into a partnership with someone your energies will align. Although you are two different and whole beings, you form a third being, your relationship, that develops its own energetical wave. That is so important for me to feel like my relationship is spiritually nurturing and helps me to extend to just my physical human self. So if my partner decides then to be romantically intimate with someone else, their energies start to mingle too. That is why I can feel that without the person even having to tell me - because the energy I created with my partner suddenly gets disturbed. The energies do not seem to align anymore, they want to rewire because the energy of the other person has undergone some change. If you tap into that you will see how destructive sleeping with other people outside your relationship is for the partners' spiritual connection and growth. And if you yourself are in tune and aware of energy around you, I bet, you will never have to wonder if your partner is cheating on you because you will feel that without any doubt.

A review on the book reads: A much better book about the role of polygamy in human evolution (and one that sees it in much more ambiguous terms) is David P Barash's Out of Eden: The Surprising Consequences of Polygamy. Barash's comments on Sex at Dawn, by the way, are as follows: ‘a truly egregious misrepresentation of biological and anthropological fact…grotesquely flawed…shouldn't be tossed aside lightly, [but] thrown away with great force.’

Society doesn’t have a high or low. Most people have endured that very remark for ages. What we do to contribute to society is an understanding. If anyone tells you that society isn’t forgiving, they obviously don’t know the law…because I’ve witnessed society to forgive more than I could ever forgive personally. EVER.

As a very young male for being 21 years old, with very little personal experience, I don't think it would change other than they are the same gender. Although it may look on the outside they tend to get along better. Edit: but that's just my assumption and what I can gather from general bias.

merry christmas !! I loved that little chitchat podcast. That point about monogamy is very interesting, but maybe it's our instinct to be like that. Like for example in the old times women needed a man to bring food to themselves and their baby and there was one man for one woman. Idk it might be one of the reasons. + there are the chemical reactions of love !! maybe it goes for only one human at the same time

I can relate to this so much! I too cut off all of my friends because I didn’t trust them, and I had bad feelings about so many of them too, but I didn’t listen to how I felt. I get reallyyy strong gut feelings too, I think it’s my Scorpio moon placement
