Indeed, when Lara started to be promoted on US TV shows, she was nicknamed « the new Barbra » or « the new Celine ». Lara is definitely a fan of both ( Barbra above all) , but while Barbra and Lara connected and made covers one of the other, Celine was one of the reasons Lara was cornered by their common record company, Sony, which abruptly stopped promoting her and forced Lara to refocus on Europe and Central Asia. Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific parce. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music composition and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). Hey Roscoe. You and Peeps are my homies! So glad you introduced him to Lara and loved his reaction to her. Hope you will have him on reacting to more Lara songs. I am a big Celine fan as well but to be honest I think Lara is the queen based on the emotion she expresses and vocal abilities.
