Kasier rolls are made with a 2 foot long thin piece of dough tied into the shape of a crown as a sign of respect to the German King that fed his people with rolls to keeping them alive during the time of a famine. Hard rolls are a ball of dough baked in an oven. The Kasier roll has *diastatic malt powder* as an ingredient, it is also used in authentic Philadelphia hoagie rolls & soft pretzels, the mault powder adds a falvor change & a little sweetness. The best can be bought from Italian bakeries in the Philadelphia area but they are a Pennsylvania Dutch bread recipes. If you're searching for good Philly hoagie or Kasier rolls outside of the Philadelphia area your best bet would be a German Bakery, even tho most would think Italian. They would be fun for a family to make together, tying the knot is tricky for most, & can be treated like a beagle, making all different flavors, I always add dried onion flakes to my dough, because there is no sandwich you're going to make with these that onion isn't going to make better, & top with toasted sesame seeds. And mattering on the age & skill of your kids, if they're going to help you make them you might want to make the dough using a *water roux* to make it easier for them, & maybe you too. Decades ago I've heard of a Philly Cheese Steak Shop in Florida using kasier rolls to make their cheese steaks when they ran out of hoagie rolls, the round shape wasn't right, but the taste would still be true. I've done this many times myself at home for the same reason. (now I want to make them, it's been two years ... maybe next week) Kasier rolls are a great pick for hot roast beef sandwiches, add some swiss cheese in there, & if the beef is from a pot roast & you have left over potatoes that were cooked with the beef, *nothing* makes for better home fries, & perfect as a side.

I’m Sicilian, and I make my garlic bread with the exact ingredients. The only difference is: I don’t cook the topping first. I just place the olive oil, butter, garlic, parsley, salt and cheese on top and put it under the broiler. I loved watching you make the bread properly. I want to cry when I see people use margarine and garlic powder on bread. Bravo!

Dude is a straight shooter. It's funny how your tastes change as you get older. I wonder if this channel continues what his comments will be when hes 15, 16 and beyond? . I'm 61 and growing up could not stand pickles on anything! The first thing I would do is remove the pickles from a burger from a fast food joint rather than make a special order and wait. Now, while I don't buy pickles, I don't even care if they are on a burger or sandwich. The brine doesn't bother me like it used to. I also use different hot sauces more regularly. I've always liked spicy food but I just use it more in my cooking.

This is perfect, everything Spot On! As for the Jam. Onions sweeten when they cook, Balsamic sweetens when it reduces, and oh yeah sugar is sweet even if you burn it. Personally, for this recipe, I would cut the sugar in half, and at the end if it needs sweetening, drizzle in honey as needed. Won't cool the jam, and you don't have to wait for it to melt. Awesome as always Brother!
