I totally agree that consistent dieting in an attempt to loose weight leads to binge eating.... and being kind and forgiving to yourself makes you thrive and succeed a lot better ..on any eating program you decide to go on... The diet industry does not cover the subject of the very intense internal mechanisms that should be the first step to changing your behaviour..

All our eating habits serve or once served a purpose - comfort, unplugging from the world, de-stress, relaxation, pleasure. Identify and remove if they no longer serve that purpose. Talk to ourselves like we would a loved one making the same choices. That's kindness. Identify what you actually like about your body - my eyebrows, arms, ankles, legs that carry you from a to b - freckles etc. This teaches you to like yourself and get out of what you hate about your body so that you start making choices that care for you and your body (kindness again). There's a lot of introspection on this plan but you can definitely see how and why her method works for addicts. Be prepared to be super honest. Put in the work with pen and paper first. Then watch the magic happen. I'm already seeing it.

I met Shahroo at an event last year after she gave a talk and it blew my mind. She said she doesnt often to public speaking arrangements but i really encouraged her as she's so articulate and engaging! It's good to see her do more things like this.

I started to eat cheese and olive oil for health reasons, I thought I would put on loads of weight, but I actually eat less through the day. I haven’t lost weight but I feel much more healthy.

Love the content on the channel but turned off when I see titles involving the words weightloss and hack. It's not aligned with your ethos.......i.e. lose weight quick, get fit quick etc. are all marketing ploys

I watched this segment and thought to myself 'great let's see what she has to say' . At the end of it I still don't have a clue what she is talking about, except don't get a lap back . Very, very confused 😕.

After more then 40 years of binge eating and yo-yo dieting, I am almost getting to understand what you trying to say, but I am not that optimistic. I am afraid to say but ED is unmanageable mental illness. Let alone curable!!! It is not possible to get out of that vicious circle for so many reasons. The main one is :no matter you are 5 , 50 or 100 kg... overweight, there is alway going to be at least few people to shame you for the excess weight and your self-esteem and self-respect and self love are permanently and ireversably damaged !!! You will be remained about that excess, more often then not, until the end of your life, in one way or the other. ED is going to be part of your life inevitably and indefinitely. Anorexia, bulimia, binging disorder, ortorexia, excessive exercise, gastric surgeries, use of various appetite supresants, prescribed and not prescribed drugs... The list is endless and suffering unavoidable!!!! Period. One more book on the dieting topic, out of the milion written so far, is never going to change bleak reality of ED and its victims. Never!!!!

I understand what you are saying and I hear you! (I do have EDs as well). But I think its important to reflect on the point that you can see yourself fully as a victim, but you can also try to see yourself as someone who can be cured. I think this perspective can change the likelihood of curing your disease drastically. It took me a very long time to understand this as well. I don't want to seem rude, I wish you the best ❤

You will be "cured" (more realistically you will learn to deal with food more healthily) when you stop seeing yourself as powerless. A victim is powerless, you have the power to change. Other people's comments only have the power to hurt you if you let them. Why do you give a t*ss what others think??? I never had any weight issues or an eating disorder before I began dieting in my late 20's to "Lose a few pounds" for a holiday.... when I lost that 7lbs I was so affected by the compliments (many were backhanded) about the weight loss, that I began to think I must have had a weight issue in the first place and began chasing more weight loss, it was this never ending you-yo, and as the years went on, after each diet I put yet more weight on. I now do have a weight issue but I have finally been able to look at images of me as a young woman and realise that I never needed to lose weight, I just needed to tell catty, jealous b*tches to get lost, that I did not need their approval. And that is the truth, YOU do not need the good opinions of people so nasty that they will make unkind comments about your weight. Why would you need them in your life? Their opinions are just that, opinions, not the truth. The truth is your health. Surround yourself with kinder, more caring people and listen to what your body needs to be healthy, not thin. I think it is basically what this woman is saying

It's not easy. But it's possible. We need to step out of victim mindset like they out there are doing something to us. These days I have become so immune, I say yea, I am fat. And I like it, So F you. We need to summon our inner warrior when these challenges arise

No way.. bananas have magnesium in it and helps with so many processes in the body.

It's certainly not something you should be consuming as part of a daily diet even if it has higher nutrition content per gram than a banana 300ml of cream vs a banana I'm going with the banana and other balanced meals throughout the day.
