Ah yes, so we've finally met General Amaya; yeah, she's a fan favorite character and you'll definitely see why as the series goes on. Though based on your reaction you probably can already see XD She's a great example of a character who's a badass despite a disability they have!

If you go back to episode 3, you can actually see Runaan leaving the king's bedroom and limping out onto the balcony, so the elves did make it to the king's bedroom. Make sure you pay special attention to the end credit sketches! They foreshadow details, events, and connections that will be revealed in later episodes and seasons.

Hi, my grandparents are deaf and ASL has been a second language in my family. My family loves this show. Amaya is awesome! Our only notes though is that it’s a bit obvious at some parts that the script was written by a hearing person instead of a deaf person. Like, they wrote the script first and then asked interpreters how they would sign Amaya’s dialogue. For example, Gren interprets Amaya’s signs with hearing people lingo than what she is exactly saying. Of course, Gren could be putting a bit of his own casual interpretation on her words, but it’s still his job to say exactly what she is saying. “The food here is… weapons grade.” v.s. What she signed was, “the food is… hard like/same as a sword.” The words “weapons grade” would not enter my mind to interpret it that way if I was interpreting for Amaya in real life. I’d say, “the food is as hard as a sword” or something close to that. But I can understand Amaya and Gren would have their own army lingo. Where it was really obvious for my family was when Gren interpreted Amaya asking Corvus to “track” them. There is no ASL sign for “track”. She signs “follow”, (because that’s the closest synonym) but Gren said “track.” I get that is what she’s asking Corvus to do, but ‘to track’ seems so specific of a task for Gren to throw that word out. Again, possible army lingo. Gren is also super fast at interpreting! Holy cow! She doesn’t even finish a sentence before he starts interpreting for her! Wish I had his skills! 😅 Again, love Amaya! ❤ She opened a lot of doors for a Deaf character. It’s clear in the first three seasons that a lot of care went into thinking about how she would have to interact with the world. For example, she has to make people look at her, or she turns around when a light turns on, etc. But I was really disappointed when that care started to be left behind in the later seasons. Characters started acting as though Amaya could lip read everything. Lip reading perfectly is a myth! It is very difficult to do! Even with context, only 30% of a conversation can be undersood! And characters start to forget to look at Amaya when speaking, or rely solely on Gren to interpret for many people at once. I’m still mad that Callum forgets to even look at his aunt when talking, or to sign for himself to talk to her. I wanted to scream, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING TO YOUR AUNT! INCLUDE HER!!” But I hope the care gets put back in new seasons. Sorry for the long rant, just hope people can be aware of these myths around Deaf people. Love your vids! Byeee! 👋

Aunt amiya is the straightest character in the show

One bind for each life King and Prince the King died and the bind was unbind but the Prince is alive so the other one is still binded. But maybe the transportation of the soul outside the body to another do the thing too.

Mosco, I sympathize with you as I had an infection on my right ear because of wearing earmuffs for a long time. I get triggered from the loud noises around the house that my mom unintentionally makes. On July of last year, I noticed that my right ear is clogged and when I used a Q-tip to clean it, I saw green stuff on the tip. I showed it to mom and she eventually brought me to the hospital. My ear doctor prescribed me drops to treat my right ear, a different kind of drops for my left ear that has been swollen, and proton pump inhibitors to reduce acid reflux. I learned from her that acid reflux can affect the ears because the stomach acid going back up to the esophagus can make the middle ear more susceptible to damage and infection. I stopped wearing earmuffs ever since.

This whole series will reveal itself as the ultimate prequel to the Last Air Bender and Calum as Aang's ancestor

One of the cool things about Amaya's fight scenes is that she dies more with the shield more than the weapons hand (You see it here, where she doesn't even carry a weapon to fight Rayla). Really drill it home for us that she's a protector first and foremost

In a show full of badass characters Amaya stands out. She’s fully awesome.

Amaya is very much my favorite character outside of the main 3. She is the perfect representation of a strong female leader. (And character representation too) Amaya isn't defined by her disability or her being a woman. None of that is even brought up in her introduction, it's just a part of her. The whole Amaya character is so much more than that.

When the show was first released the amount of theories and fandom craziness that hit the internet was incredible when you get to a safe place you should do a deep dive into the king specifically the theories were crazy

for someone who usually picks up on a lot of small details, I'm surprised she didn't understand that the binds was for the assasinations of the king & his son, and that therefor one of them loosening meant the king died

They did explain the bindings before, you did miss it. They had Two goals when they went to the castle, one succeeded, the other they did not.

The reason one fell off and the other didn't is because they were bound to kill two targets: The king and his son. The king was killed, but his son survived.

20:26, I think you're the first reactor I've seen have this theory. It's very similar to a theory I have. After watching a specific season, I won't say which because of spoilers, but I basically had the theory that Viren did attempt the soul switching spell but wasn't able to complete it before Harrow's body died. So Harrow could still be alive inside Viren. 2 souls fighting for control. The theory kinda came to me as a joke. For reasons, I've made the joke that Harrow is the real villain of the story. Also, chalk it up to writing mistakes or whatever, but as a character, Viren can sometimes feel inconsistent to me. So, in my opinion, having 2 souls in one body could explain that. Whether I still believe this theory or not, well I've seen the whole show and honestly.... we'll see.

Just remember that Rayla enter the castle chasing not only for the king, but also the prince Ezran, she says that humans killed the Dragon King and his only egg, so the elves come to make justice, that's what she said. 😉

Few things. The king is indeed dead. But if that was indeed the king, or just the bird in the kings body is up for debate. The woman’s name is Amaya. The boys call er Aunt Amaya because there her aunt and her sister was their mother. Viren is not doing anyone any favors here. He just wants the boys declared dead to get all the power for himself.

The boys will find out on their own skin that those stories are actually true during the bloodmoon. Once a year the moon turns red and moonshadow elves go crazy and essentially become vampires. Callum and ezran will have to survive the night while rayla will try to kill them and drink their blood. What a f**ing dark episode!

It seems like your girlfriend really knows you enough to point that character out to you. Please listen to Pink Floyd's song Comfortably Numb. Opeli is indeed the high priestess of Katolis. She is also a prominent advisor and knows the laws of Katolis inside and out. She is fiercely loyal to those laws and traditions, and to the institution of the monarchy, as well as being a highly competent administrator and politician, and as a result, is Viren's greatest opponent for much of the series. You'll see more of her, don't worry. Fun facts: she loves the beach, holidays, and planning parties, and is voiced by the same actress as Rayla.
